Description

The Scottish Links at Glenlaurel offers a unique experience, modeled after the old-world designs of Scotland. This private nine-hole layout uses natural contours, tall grasses, and windswept mounding to create a true links-style round. The absence of carts enhances the authentic walking experience, while firm turf conditions reward strategic shotmaking. It's considered one of Ohio's hidden gems, delivering a rare taste of authentic links golf. Guests often visit as part of Glenlaurel's luxury inn experience.

The attention to detail from the accommodations to the food to the experience is well-executed. We appreciate the original vision of Michael who worked diligently to provide a get-away by dreaming up the legend of Glenlaurel. We have been coming for 22 years and have always been treated with the greatest of care. The team works together to create a rich experience and the traditions that brought us here originally have lived on without becoming trite or worn. Besides the accommodations, the grounds, the cuisine, and the staff, we adore the poetry at dinner and the special events throughout the year.

Recently went for the first time for my 4th anniversary, and I got to say, it exceeded my expectations. My husband and I travel for work and are both foodies. So we've been around the block when it comes to trying out local food, and I'm not going to lie, this is some of the best I've come across. I also noticed that they had a greenhouse on site for fresh herbs and micro greens. I can definitely tell it makes a big impact on the freshness of the food. Our Cabin was also clean and private, something we appreciated. Lastly, without doing into detail there was an incident of racism with another guest at dinner, and the staff went above and beyond with making it right. They had our back and made sure that we didn't have to interact them them again. So I an attest, if you or your partner are a minority then your safe. PS - Shout Out to Hostess Dawn, you did a great job, and thank you for helping!

Recent trip to Glen Laurel was amazing! Dinner in the Manor House was exceptional! The menu for the evening was amazing as was the presentation. Picture worthy! Breakfast the next day featured fresh homemade scones made by none other than Melissa! Every employee that we encountered was welcoming and made sure we were having a memorable and positive experience.

We booked Glen Laurel because we wanted to stay somewhere special and unique. There is not much “Scottish” here but the name. We had some prepackaged shortbread in our Croft and Scottish music playing when we arrived. Even the coffee table book in our Croft was on California! The Croft was clean but outdated and wear was evident. There is a free Scottish golf course available for guests (however, you have to purchase special balls from them to play plus a special tee, so not really free, eh). The gift shop is the size of a large closet and did not seem to offer many Scottish influenced items. The scenery is beautiful and it is mostly quiet. They do have 2 private hiking trails, totaling about 2 miles of their 140 acres. Breakfast was mediocre - the scones were by far the best part of the meal. We did choose to skip the chef’s 6 course meal due to the high cost and the mixed reviews of previous diners. All in all a very high cost for an underwhelming stay.

Glenlaurel Inn is a wonderful place to stay. Surrounded by beautiful landscape, the rooms are large, clean and warmly decorated. The gourmet breakfast is delicious and a delightful way to start your day. Evening social hour is a fun addition to. Dinner at the Inn is a must at least once. Their Scottish golf experience is a true challenge but a fun way to spend a morning. (Be prepared to be humbled!). The Hocking Hills State Park has beautiful hiking trails. It was dry when we went so no waterfalls, but still beautiful. The Inn is about 15-20 minutes from restaurants, wineries, other attractions. Finally, all of the staff was great but Melissa in particular made it a very special experience.
