Description

Willow Run Golf Club is a straightforward, good value round with plenty of chances to score. The course favors accuracy over length, rewarding tee shots that find the right side of the fairway. Greens are readable but roll with enough pace to keep three putts in play if you get careless. It's a comfortable walk, and the routing makes it easy to sneak in nine after work. Local leagues give the place a friendly buzz on summer evenings.

Stopped to play 18 on our way to the US Open. Quit playing after 9, and absolutely zero reason to ever go back. Course layout had potential to be very nice if it was actually taken care of. The moss/mold on the side of the clubhouse and the trees growing out of the gutters should’ve been the first warning. Fairways looked like a demolition derby had taken place in them, and the greens had clearly never had a divot repaired. Very disappointing and that’s before you consider the slow pace of play with groups ahead of us clearly having no etiquette or consideration. Spent more time sitting waiting at the tee boxes than we did getting to play. Teed off around 4:10 and left the course a little before 8:00 only getting to play 9 of our 18. Don’t waste your time or money coming here…sad course even for beginners looking for a quick cheap round.

What a hidden gem! I’ve been driving by it for years and finally decided to go play. Very affordable and the course was in great shape. Cart paths might need an update but I walked 9. Excited to go try the other 9! Beautiful course, definitely recommend!

Paid $42 per person on a 1230 Sunday tee time with cart for a total of $84 for two. First the course. It's a strange course. Fairly straight for the most part and albeit boring at times. In the course there are several holes that have greens and the next tee box VERY Close together that will cause crossplay and honestly not very safe. Was almost hit several times because of this. Most of the golfers that were playing the course were hacks at best and often balls were all over the place. Second - There was no course management as a group of six was on the course on a busy Sunday afternoon and play was stacked up the entire time. Additionally the cart paths were atrocious and best to avoid at all costs. DO NOT PLAY THIS COURSE AFTER RAIN. unfortunately the place does not absorb rain at all from the fairways through the greens - it was very very bad with huge puddles and ponding across the course. Next I played from the blues and honestly some of the tee boxes were very, very bad and should be fixed so you can actually find a fairly flat and grassy area. Overall for the price it's not worth it. I could think of a ton of other nicer courses in the area for equal or a little bit more price and would have a better experience.

I have been going to willow run almost exclusively for a couple years now. The layout of the course and cost were hard to beat. Pace of play has always been very slow but it was easy to look past that with the price. The price is now $42 on the weekend. There's no starter so people do whatever they want out there. Today there was a group of 6 playing together which completely held everything up. People don't seem to realize you should let others play through either. Everybody plays extremely slow and there's nobody out there enforcing anything. Cart paths are in really bad shape. Again, I used to be able to look past the negatives because the price was good, but at the current price point things need to get better and they haven't. Will need to start looking for other places to play

Pretty bad condition and pace of play was horrible. Skip it, unless you don't mind a 5+ hr round. I picked up my ball on 14th hole and moved on with my life. Might be okay if it's your very first time out as a golfer though. It's pretty affordable.
