I drove from Eugene to visit my son and play a round of golf with him. We get there, no one is in the clubhouse but there are a couple carts out front. As we are trying to figure out what to do, who to pay, and how to start, a groundskeeper pulls up on a cart and tells us we can drop our fees (including cart rental) into the slot and take the cart he's leaving for us. Cool, we do that, and head out on the first hole. After putting on hole 2 he pulls up on another cart and tells us we have to return the cart because he wasn't supposed to rent the cart out. What? I have to walk and carry my bag the rest of the 18 because he made a mistake and we PAID for cart rental? Luckily there was someone in the clubhouse by then and they gave a full refund but still the mistake was already made, let us at least finish the front 9 and then refund us half before ruining our trip. We won't be back.

Played this course in May while on a vacation road trip. The staff were both helpful and friendly, made this stranger feel most welcome. Early summer so some grooming details weren't completely in order but I'll tell you this - a golfer could play at another course were the greens fees were 10 times higher and not find the greens in as good a condition as they were at Valley Golf Club. It's a relatively easy course. There were no sand traps nor were there any water hazzards. I wasn't looking for a big challenge this day, just friendly staff, fair course and wonderful scenery around the course itself.

I can say it's the nicest golf course for at least two hundred miles in every direction. If you know, you know.
