1STAR REVIEWS? DEBUNKED.. LAID BACK, FAIR GREENS, CLEAN TEE BOXES, TLDR; This course and its staff is underrated for the average public course within 30 miles of this area. Perhaps once upon a time there was a staff member here that was not polite, yet I’ve regulated this course for 6 months now and Every, Single, Time, I am here the staff is 10 stars, the course is maintained well, and the 1 star reviews are debunked. Every, time. I swear you can smell the pompous seething off some of these reviews and you’d think the short bus drove the latter of them to the course. Play Wyandot, 5 stars.

Played 18 holes today for the first time at Wyandot and it's definitely my last. The course was pretty rough condition but given the time of year it was expected. I arrived about 20 mins before my 12:30p tee time, was hardly anyone around and it seemed relaxed. I checked in with the young lady at the desk who advised me to tee off whenever, as if there was nothing going on and there was no line at the first hole. My buddy and I ended up teeing off around 12:40p with no starter and no one around. Around hole 4 or 5, near the club house, a lady, seemed to be an employee began yelling across the 18th green-“You need to hurry up, there is a shotgun start in an hour, your tee time was 12:30p, pick up the pace”. The delivery was rude and unprofessional. I’ve been around golf courses for 20 years and worked at one in my early teens, never been yelled at like that by an employee of a golf course. We ended up finishing up the front 9 in 1 hour and 30 mins. During the entire 18 holes, there was a single player behind us that never played though, we ended up finishing the 18 in about 3 hours 30 mins. At the end of the round, I turned my cart keys into the club house and the gentleman at the desk asked how it went. I explained to him my displeasure of bringing yelled at by the lady from the club house, who was also present in the club house. I explained to her that I didn’t appreciate being yelled at for pace and that I thought it was unprofessional. I explained to her that we started at 12:40p and we were playing at a fast pace, she said she didn't think she was rude and eluded to us tee off late by tossing our start time in my face. The gentle/owner offered to make it “right” but there wasn’t anything that would’ve changed my mind. Unfortunately, I had read previous Google reviews of similar complaints of being yelled at for pace. When I brought the reviews up to the gentleman/owner he said he had never read the their reviews. Maybe it’s time.

Nice course. Narrow fairways. A good place to get 18 holes in quick. On a quick pace until catching up to some beginners. Played on a Saturday morning in 3 1/2 hours!

Don’t waste your time at this course. The superintendent has a bigger ego than you could ever imagine. The women staff are great but the superintendent was absurd and completely out of line. Prices are going up and quality is going down. Used to be a fun place to play. Witnessed the superintendent screaming at sets of golfers in the parking lot for waiting at holes with 5 people when the course was completely backed up rather than taking action against the set of 3 that were clogging up the whole course. 5 hour round. Go down the road 10 minutes. Better staff, better course, and cheaper prices. Was fun while it lasted.

The golf course was in poor condition including tee boxes, fairways, and greens. We as a group of 5 began to play together due to the poor golf clubhouse management as their were groups in front of us holding back multiple groups forcing us to play a 5 way scramble to which we weren’t slowing anyone else down. We were approached by course superintendent told us regardless of how fast we’re playing it was a bad look to have us playing slow while not once approaching the groups in front of us who slowed all groups behind them down. He told us and I quote “groups next week and the week after will wanna play 5 or 6 man tee times which isn’t allowed and told us we could leave or split up” to which would only slow the course down even more. A strong recommendation: worry more about taking care of your below average course than about a 5 man group who isn’t causing any disruption to the play. Won’t be golfing here again until management can do their jobs correctly. It’s a shame since the course was starting to get better a few years go.
