Unfortunately this review is not going to sound kind! First off its 60+ bucks to play 18 and a cart. Pros: views are awesome and greens are in great shape! Cons: burnt out grass, overgrown bunkers and not raked, fairways are bad, lots of spots in the rough it appears that crab grass has over taken the area, very spotty and lots of dead spots, pace of play is bad, and its run by young adults who i dont believe care to be there nor the course. Its apparent by the quality and upkeep of the course! They'd rather talk amongst themselves and have no clue what's going on there. I tried to get tee times for Friday and Saturday and didn't know what outings or groups were coming! I was told I couldn't play 18 at 11am on Friday due to an outing. So I paid for 9 holes and paired up with a twosome at 1 who was playing 18. Its hard to pay 60 plus dollars for a course based upon the visual layout! I'd rather pay an extra 20 and go to Virtues or Eagle Sticks. My uncle has been playing there for 40 years and its the worst hes ever seen

Almost worth 4.5 stars. Challenging layout, and usually in excellent condition. Staff is friendly and accommodating from my experience, and I've never had any bad experiences here. One thing to note is that this is very much a tactical layout, and you won't have many opportunities to air out your driver. Get comfortable with whatever club it takes to send the ball 220 yards or so, because you'll be doing that a lot! Many hills and doglegs, and take a cart because you'll need mountain goat genetics to attempt walking! Keep yourself below the hole, and you'll have a chance to score well. Some really nice views of Salt Fork Lake from the higher points, and don't miss out on some of the best fishing around while you're there!

Been going to Salt Fork park for 5 years now. We rent cabins and play a lot of golf and really enjoy the area. The course is the worst we've seen. The course is tough with every hole going down and up with crazy elevations, but the fairways are so bad, like a combination of dried cracked mud, some grass spots, and sprinkle in some dirt. You never stand on flat land so hitting clean shots is a task itself. Chunking or blading a lot of shots became normal. Surprisingly, the greens are in very good shape, and extremely tough breaks so putting is not easy. I gave 1 star for the greens, otherwise 0 stars would be appropriate. Young staff, while polite and attentive to customers as needed, they do stand or sit around a lot. That's too bad because the whole place needs cleaning. Bathrooms are disgusting. Cobwebs and dust and dirt everywhere. These kids could do some cleaning when it's not busy. We were there on a Sunday, one woman working the pro shop and snack area. It wasn't too busy thankfully for her. She had to lock 3 of the 4 doors so she could keep an eye on what's going on. Golf carts aren't too bad, little dirty but that doesn't really bother me, and they are pretty fast. The cart paths are starting to get bad now too. Especially where the carts are parked. Literally asphalt falling apart in chunks. Disappointed to say the least. We spend a lot of money in the area but are now looking elsewhere. I can see that course closing if they dont start repairing it very soon.

Start off with the range being closed. Was told “oh it’s closed today”. Range looks like it’s been closed all year lol. Fairways were absolutely awful. Was told it was a “fungus”. Which may be true but there were other issues like overgrown trees, rough looked awful and not taken care of. Certain food at the turn was unavailable and what was available was garbage. For almost 50 bucks during the week this was a complete joke.

Tough course but a fun go after. We 2 man scrambled the weekend never playing the course. We shot 76 day one & 73 day two. Balls do plug bcuz of elevation! You could cut so many corners which makes this course alot of fun if you drive the ball 265-280. Highly recommended atleast 2 rounds of 18.
