I teed off first on a weekday and encountered a few surprises on the course. On the opening par 5, 1st hole that has a wide fairway there was a dead skunk on the left edge of the fairway. I didn’t think too much of it until I got a few holes further and found a dead possum that looked like another animal had gotten it. This was also in the fairway. Definitely not what you expect to find and not sure what was going after these animals and why they were in the middle of play. The course itself is a tale of 2 nines. The front nine is 600 yards longer than the back 9 from the white tees and only one stroke more. The front is wide open so you can spray your tee shot a bit and still be ok. The back nine is tighter and much more visually interesting/scenic. The entire course was in good, not great condition. The greens were smooth and rolled well. The bunkers all appeared in good shape. Tee boxes had a few broken tees, but in ok shape. The fairways were all a bit long/shaggy and more like a first cut off a fairway at most courses. I’m guessing the course is keeping the fairways a bit long due to drought conditions in the area. Many courses I’ve played recently from Cleveland as far south as Morgantown, WV have had dried/burned out fairways and in some cases greens as well, Service in the pro shop was friendly and helpful. Maple Ridge was fun to play, just would hope the mtce staff cleared the dead animals quickly.

Really nice course, staff was kind and friendly, I went on a Wednesday mid afternoon and the course was wide open didn’t have to wait for anyone and no one behind either. Will definitely go again!!!

Had a tee time booked for 8:00 AM on a Saturday...Nobody was there to open the course. There was a parking lot full of groups waiting. Not only was there nobody there to open the course, but after talking to other groups, turns out they double booked all of us as well, because some booked online and some called to book...After waiting a while, we realized even if and when someone did show up, we'd be waiting at least another hour to get out...So we never got to play and drove 40 minutes for nothing on a Saturday morning when we could've been playing somewhere else. Stuff happens sometimes, understandably... Except this is the second time this has happened at this course...We booked a time last year...Got to the course, nobody was there to open, when someone finally did show up, we find out that they double booked us with another group...That time it was a Monday, so at least we were still able to get out after a long wait. I'm not one to give bad reviews or bash businesses...But this one star rating is well deserved.

Nice place, little backed up but still fun to play.

Don't book through golf now they didn't honor my tee time. Blamed golf now and really didn't care. Got a babysitter, drove an hour and so they nearly ruined a beautiful Saturday. Luckily I drink. My buddy Tom almost pooped on their parking lot on the way out, but we respect the game too much.
