I played Thendara four times last season (2022) and I must say I was very impressed. Thendara is a true northern golf course, featuring picturesque views, undulating fairways and greens, and very tame deer that wander the golf course. This course is their land, we are just playing on it! One thing I must brag about is their golf carts! They are all electric, and are equipped with GPS systems that depict accurate yardages to the pin, and even allow you to connect via Bluetooth to play your choice of music as you play! The front nine offers a wide open layout, allowing golfers who may spray the ball to recover easier from errant shots, while the back nine is tighter, constructed in the woods, making it more of a challenge to hit each shot straight! My favorite hole on the golf course is Hole 12, a beautiful Par 3 that sits in front of Moose River. The pro shop staff is very friendly, as are the starters. One time this past summer the course was a little backed up and busy with golfers, and the starter even recommended I play 2 balls if I wish, to alleviate the slight wait time. Very laid back and friendly! The staff made me feel at home. In closing, the course is conveniently located just minutes from Old Forge, where I typically like to end my golf outing and grab a bite to eat at Tony Harper’s, a great spot to get a fresh pizza and beer! I even got my first ever eagle on Hole 8, witnessed by two of my friends. A 150 yard wedge shot into the green that rolled right in!
