This review is long overdue ! We got married September 23rd, 2022. We had both our ceremony and reception at Engineers Country Club in Roslyn. If you haven’t heard of this gorgeous private country club yet - please check it out. It’s both the most gorgeous setting but it also an extremely convenient location. Engineers wasn’t even on our radar originally. We had such terrible luck looking at other venues that we literally walked into ECC one evening without an appoitment or plan. Even though we totally bombarded our way in, we were still greeted and given a full tour. It was that night we met Trisha, the best wedding gift we could have ever received ! Meeting Trisha is quite literally the best thing that could have ever happened. As dramatic as that sounds, Trisha reassured us every single step of the way, was always available, and listened to all of our wishes. She went above and beyond her role to ensure we had our dream wedding. Something I noticed everywhere else we went was the cookie cutter business feeling. It was never about me or my husband. Trisha made it a point to get to know me, my husband, and our families. She let us come see the venue as many times as we wanted, sent us table ideas, and would even responds to my many panicked late night messages. I never felt like I was bothering her or just another bride. Trisha was genuinely there for us every moment of wedding planning. Engineers was an absolutely stunning venue that only has one event a day. The private attention is key when planning your big day. Most other places had timelines or several other events happening at once. The privacy not only allowed us to create our own timeline but, we had access to the entire property. All of the day of staff was incredible including my bridal attendant Victoria. She did everything from fix my dress to taking behind the scenes photos for us. The venue was recently renovated so everything is brand new. The ballroom doesn’t feel like a catering hall and has no carpet! As ridiculous as that sounds, it meant a lot. Everything felt fresh and adaptable to our decor. In addition to the gorgeous rooms and outdoor spaces, the food at Engineers ? INCREDIBLE!!!!!!! Everyone was raving about our food selection. The engineers wedding menu is extensive and totally customizable. I actually pray that one of my friends gets married at ECC just so I can go back and eat. Besides the actual food served at the wedding, the food spread we had while getting ready was phenomenal. We had full access to ECC the day of our wedding. We got to set up and get ready there at no extra charge. They had a delicious lunch spread and bar stocked for the entire wedding party. There are truly not enough words to express the gratitude I have for ECC and especially Trisha. I don’t think our wedding would have been anywhere as incredible as it was if it wasn’t for Trisha or ECC. I’m already looking forward to the next big event we can plan with EEC !

A golf course that is well taken care off, the grounds, the buildings, the driving range are all in great shape. The course is quite challenging, there are a lot of slopes and waves on the greens and putting is quite difficult. I’d recommend this course for golfers who want something different and more exciting. The restaurant provides nice food, the staff was fast, friendly and professional. I recommend this club. Will come back again to play.

As a former Invited Clubs member, I’ve had positive experiences at a couple of the private clubs and understand the importance of etiquette, tradition, and respectful conduct. That’s why I was genuinely surprised and disappointed by how my recent visit to Engineers Country Club was handled. I visited as a prospective member, sincerely interested in what the club had to offer. However, expectations around prior golf experience and etiquette were not communicated in advance. My experience has mostly been recreational (e.g., Topgolf), and had I known that a higher level of familiarity was expected, I would have welcomed the opportunity to take etiquette lessons or ask questions beforehand. Instead, I was informed after the fact that staff had seen us on the course and complained. At no point did anyone approach us directly to explain any concerns until after the fact. We were told we might be perceived as “fooling around,” though that phrase was never defined, and notably, there was only one other member or guest visible on the course at the time, far away from our golf cart. The implication that our presence was disruptive felt both unclear and unfair. There was also confusion about attire. It was implied that certain women’s dresses were not acceptable, though that wasn’t clarified in advance and wasn’t addressed with us in real time. The experience lacked the transparency and hospitality that prospective members deserve. A brief orientation or a simple, respectful conversation could have made a meaningful difference. I hope this feedback helps the club reflect on how it welcomes and communicates with future visitors who come in good faith and with a genuine desire to be part of the community.

Beautiful property kept in great shape. Pictures are from the 15th tee and 12th fairway. The kitchen makes some tasty food too!
