If you have friends or family who have a connection to stop and stay here, DO IT ! Similar to the film Dirty Dancing, this resort provides all of the things you want in a vacation. Golf, hiking, boating, tennis, great food, relaxation away from electronics and beautiful scenery.

Beautiful!! Although i did not stay at the club itself we were able to access the High Peaks we were hiking from this area. The grounds are amazing and very well kept!! Thank you Ausable Club for sharing your grounds and allowing all of us Hikers to access here!!

Leg no. 1. I have zero use for the golf course or club---I come here to get away from all that and get into the wilderness but at least the state has negotiated public easements to traverse the property to get on the trails. Last here 8/94, doing a multi-day traverse with my backpacking partner Greg. Back then the house was painted white (see pic) and the "guard shack" at the reserve entrance was tiny, green, and barely a shack---looks about four times as large these days. This formed Leg #1 of our big loop; following Trail #28 along the Ausable River E to W. Then hitting Trail #33, Leg #2 WNW toward Lower Wolf Jaw.

Allowing public use of the land is very much appreciated. The trail maintenance, especially the bridges all along lake road is superb. Thanks, guys!
