Description

Cold Spring Country Club is tucked into the wooded hills of Huntington and delivers a classic Long Island golf experience. Its narrow fairways and sloped greens test accuracy and short game skill. The club has an elegant but unpretentious culture. With tennis, pool, and dining, it's more than just golf. Cold Spring is a complete country club experience.

As an avid golfer with years of experience playing courses around the world, I can honestly say this was the worst I’ve encountered. The facilities were extremely unkept and frankly disgusting, and the staff were consistently rude throughout my visit. Between the poor maintenance and the lack of professionalism, I cannot recommend Cold Spring Country Club to anyone.

This review is for Cold Spring Harbor Country Club...not Oheka Castle. Situated around the gorgeous landmark, this course is well kept, has some good length and offers beautiful views/photo opportunities with the castle in the backdrop. Since the course runs down from castle there is a decent amount of undulation (hills) which make for a challenge with uneven lies and breaking putts on the greens. The staff is amazing from the pro shop and caddies to the dining room staff and maintenance workers. 10/10 country club experience. Definitely recommend playing/visiting if you're fortunate enough to have the opportunity.

I recently had the pleasure of playing golf at the prestigious Cold Spring Country Club, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish! The exceptional service and expertise of our caddy, Chef (Mark), added an extra layer of enjoyment to our round. Chef, was a fantastic guide throughout the course. His knowledge of the game and friendly demeanor created a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. He shared insightful tips and engaging stories that made our golfing experience truly unforgettable. Speaking of the club, the course was an absolute gem. Every inch of the fairways and greens was meticulously maintained, showcasing the club's commitment to excellence. The picturesque views and challenging layout made each hole a joy to play. Cold Spring Country Club offers a golfing experience that caters to players of all skill levels. Cold Spring Country Club's amenities were top-notch. The clubhouse provided a luxurious and inviting atmosphere, and the dining options were outstanding. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team at Cold Spring Country Club, especially to Chef for making our day truly memorable.

Awesome place, with a great history, the hill on which the house stands was poured for 2 years to make the house one of the highest in the area. Thanks to the new owner of the house, who restored it and now it is available for visits to a restaurant or hotel. Expensive, rich and autumn is beautiful.

If you can't hop on a plane to Europe any time soon, then motor on over to dine at Oheka Castle on the grounds of this golf course. Truly a magnificent place, especially when you eat with friends. As you drive along with the manicured lawns and golf greens and fairways, you still can't imagine the beauty that awaits beyond the iron gates. Once inside the property, the grandeur teases you among the long hedgerows. And when your view of the castle comes into focus, just like Dorothy, in the Wizard of Oz remarks, ..."Guess we aren't in Kansas anymore." No, we are not on Long Island as It looks and feels just like you are standing in front of a Chateau in France! The cobblestone parking area, English Gardens, and sculptures just put you thousands of miles away. Inside, wherever you walk or look, there is something opulent to behold. The architecture, furnishings, and art are grand. As for the luncheon, we dined on a mouth-watering Lobster Salad, Grilled Jumbo Shrimp Salad, and Profiteroles. Exquisitely delicious!!! If you can, add this to your bucket list. Just a beautiful jewel on Long Island, guess one may say, "A diamond in the rough."
