From a fellow local business owner, I'm disappointed. I have never been to Timber Creek, but I was invited by a local friend. I'm not the one that did the research or scheduled the tee time and was unaware that this was a 9 hole course. I paid for 18 holes and we headed out. I immediately noticed how nicely kept the course was and with it being less than 15 minutes from the 20 summer rentals I own on Chautauqua Lake, I thought I'd most definitely be back! Another good place to add to our collection of 68 pamphlets on our display racks in our office of local businesses we refer our thousands of annual guests to!!! After we got settled in and played a few holes my friend informed me that it was a 9 hole course and he wanted to play twice. I did not wish to play another round of the same 9 on the same day. Not a big deal, I'd just ask for the second 9 back or a raincheck and come play again another day. After the first 9 I went into the clubhouse and asked for a refund for my other 9. I had a smile on my face and definitely thought I'd be back soon to hit another 9!! I was informed that the misinformation was my own problem and I would not be receiving the fee for the other 9 holes back, nor was I offered a raincheck. My smile quickly turned into confusion. I kindly explained that I was unaware of the situation because I didn't schedule it. It didn't matter. I asked the woman if she was serious, she was, I nodded, and left dumbfounded. We would N-E-V-E-R in a million years have a happy customer, with a smile on their face, KINDLY ask us to correct a minor mistake, and tell them to pound salt. These easy fixes turn a nice afternoon into a question of "Why are people like this?" This is a nice place. It is well kept. They're doing that right, however, customer service could use some improvement. When you're in an industry where you're providing a service to people that are paying you for enjoyment, it should be a priority to take care of them and have them leave with a smile. I could have left with a smile on my face and a great recommendation, however, I wouldn't recommend my friends or guests try something new to support a local business that is more concerned about keeping 20 dollars in the moment than a happy customer, good word, free local advertising, and repeat business. Over twenty bucks or a raincheck, it's actually comical. What a shameful way for a small local business to treat people.
