Tough course for average golfer, but it was on great shape, and staff was great. We were there for a tournament it was very well run. We had a great time

Whom ever has rated this course in the top 25 public courses in New York State needs a reality check. I’ll provide the good and bad from this visit. Reader; keep in mind as I write this review, I just spent the entire weekend in Binghamton playing three different courses. En-Joie (18 holes) on Friday, Conklin Players Club Saturday (36 holes) and Hiawatha (18 holes) on Sunday. The good: This is a beautiful designed links style course. Beautiful views with undulating fairways and greens. The fairways were maintained well and the green speed and firmness were perfect. The greens, fairways and design are what pushed this course from a 1 star review to a 3 star review. The bad: if you want to pay $75 dollars to play a course that smells like goose excrement and unplayable bunkers, look no further, this is your place. Bathe in the stink of rotten pond scum and goose excrement, chip from the clay bunkers or better yet dent your irons from the hard pan and fist sized stone in the other bunkers. It’s a shame honestly, this course has serious potential, they obviously know what they’re doing because the greens were amazing, but the bunkers and stink were too much. They claim to be the home course for Binghamton University, I say good luck to any collegiate athlete that has to hack through this track.
