Description

John Cassell II's Divide rides rolling terrain southeast of Charlotte with a classic Carolina parkland vibe. Fairways appear generous but strategic bunkering and water narrow the optimal landing zones. The back nine's elevation changes demand careful yardage control into multi-tiered greens. Recent conditioning upgrades have the course playing firmer and faster than in years past. A quality range - including tech-enabled bays - makes it popular for serious practice as well as casual play.

I love the entire property at the divide! It almost has a public course country club feel to it. The addition of the top tracer range has really brought great attention to the course. The putting practice green is always in good shape and for around $50 for 18 during the week, it is now among the more affordable courses in the area. The Diamond Zoysia are fantastic and are always in good shape. I think only 1 hole on the course had some green repair going on. The clubhouse and bar area are nice! Stop in before, during, or after a round to pickup one of the best hot dogs around! Half price replay rate if you have the time and plenty of challenge for all golfers out there. Whether it’s time at the range or an early 18, The divide can accommodate you. Check them out, you won’t regret it!

My nephew came back from New York raving about playing golf with my son at Beth Page Blue. They played on a Saturday and said that the course was in immaculate condition. They paid $43 for the round and walked. With a cart it would have added $20. But listen up, you can play the Divide for $80 today. Aren’t we lucky? It’s not only the Divide with this overpriced feeling of superiority. It’s almost every half decent public golf course in the Charlotte area. But it’s our fault. We are being conned. I guess we have become good at that. Enjoy your weekend rates! Joe Rothenberg

It's sad, this used the be one of the best courses in town. The tees are in terrible shape and the greens aren't much better, but it's more about the course management. The last 5 times we've been it's a 5+ hour round. Today there was a 5-some in front of us and the group behind us (one wearing an undershirt, wish I could say young ones who didn't know any better, but that was not the case) thought it was OK to simply jump between us and the fivesome - guess they were getting tired of the 5 hour round too. Told the starter who said, "welcome to The Divide." Bummer, used to play here quite often but think I'll spend our money elsewhere. This is a shot of 7 total groups (including the 5some) on 18...grab a snickers, or, just book somewhere else that is better managed.

This course is returning to its former glory days as a certified cow pasture. And to celebrate, they’re raising their prices to compete with real golf courses that actually take care of their property. Seriously, it seemed like the new management team was on track to turn this course around a couple years ago, but they opted instead to put in a state of the art, wanna-be Top Golf driving range, (waste), brand new carts, and charge outrageous prices for an otherwise less-than-basic, less than muni-quality golf experience. Featuring North Carolina’s finest clay mud traps… sorry, bunkers, diseased greens with highly stressed grass running about a 5 on the Stimp meter, and low grade cow pasture fairways sunken in mud. Great job guys. I’ll be back in a few years to check if your prices have plummeted enough to match the golfing experience you offer. Ps. Food sucks too

The Divide is still one of our favorite courses in town and my group had a great round there yesterday. As noted by some recent reviews, the greens suffered with the summer drought, but they were in reasonably good shape (with a few exceptions) and it's clear that the course ownership is trying to improve things. Love the practice facility and the friendly staff.
