Unique experience for those who like historical buildings. Although clearly struggling a bit, this hotel has its own unique charm due to its history. Don't expect to be served on a gold platter or for the hotel to have high tech gadgets/etc. Unlike many other hotels nearby, this one is tucked away halfway up a mountain with a great view, away from the hustle and bustle of North Conway. It has plenty of things to do, including a game room, fitness room, a hiking trail behind it (moderate), golf course and if open, a swimming pool. I recommend bringing a card game or 2 to play with family! Maintenance/room service could be just a little better (things could be cleaned deeper), but the lady who serviced our room (123 from 6/9 to 6/12) did a great job, so thank you! Fair warning though, most rooms are designed for 2 adults and 1 kid at most. If planning to have 4 adults, bring an air mattress. You can also request a refrigerator for $10/night if you need one. Most rooms likely come with a TV and 2 power outlets one of which has been expanded for the TV, so plan your power consumption carefully. Overall enjoyed the stay, and didn't run into any bug issues or anything, but would suggest to the owners to have a deep clean, particularly the first floor hallway: it smelled a bit weird during our visit.

A Timeless Retreat in the Heart of Jackson I’ve been coming to the Eagle Mountain House for 30 years. My first visit was for my cousin’s wedding, and I remember being struck by the grandeur of this expansive, historic wooden hotel—and of course, the stunning mountain views that are just as breathtaking today. I keep coming back because Jackson is such a quaint and charming town, and the Eagle Mountain House never loses its magic. Sitting on the front porch in a rocking chair, taking in the view, I often glance at the railings and admire the craftsmanship and strength of this old-fashioned structure. You can feel the history in every detail—decades of guests who’ve made memories here. Inside, the hotel has seen some thoughtful updates, but I’m glad the original wood floors still creak in places. It’s not ultra-modern or luxurious, but it’s wonderful in its own, nostalgic way. The staff are friendly, local folks who genuinely seem to care about doing a good job. If you’re looking to be charmed by Jackson, New Hampshire, I highly recommend giving the Eagle Mountain House a try. It’s a place that stays with you.
