Description

Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Presidential Range, Mount Washington Golf Course is a Donald Ross-designed gem that blends history with jaw-dropping scenery. Towering peaks surround wide fairways, and the iconic red-roofed Omni Mount Washington Resort looms nearby like a postcard come to life. It's playable for all levels, but strategic bunkering and subtle greens demand focus. Bring your camera and your A-game.

Decent golf course nestled within the scenic white mountain. Front 9 is relatively flat with several bunkers coming into play keeping things interesting. Back 9 finally brings some elevation into the mix especially no. 13 and 14 with expansive mountain back drop. But the course condition, fairways seems quite poor. For $165 green fee, it falls short of what a great golf course it can be. Fairways are patchy, dry and very unappealing to look at and play. I suppose the idea is to not look down and just enjoy the scene. The carts are noisy and driving range and practice facility is very subpar. All in all, if you are staying at the resort, definitely a good place to play, especially in the morning as the fog slowly unveils the mountains… but I hope the course management, brings the fairways to a better shape.

People here are not gentlemen. A few weeks ago, as I was leaving the golf club and about to merge onto the main road, my car was hit by a golf ball. I have dashcam footage. I know very well it was from those people on the hill, and they know it too. Our eyes met. I had something urgent, so I didn’t deal with it on the spot. Now it’s clear that even if I had, it wouldn’t have made any difference. No one would admit it, and no one would take responsibility. I’m not trying to make a big deal out of it, nor am I upset. I just know those people are not gentlemen.

Seems like Mt. Washington is becoming less about the golfing experience and more about profit margins. Great course, but the conditions are below standard this year. Dead spots in fairway, closed tees. I would give them a pass for the conditions and chalk it up to a hot, dry summer, but rolling out the “Dynamic Pricing” this season has left a bad taste in my mouth. The standard rate is $165, and charging $205 because it’s “busy” is a pure money grab. Seems like they are raising prices and cutting back on maintenance costs to increase profits. Hoping Omni doesn’t ruin one of the best courses in NE

Like playing golf in a fairytale storybook. The Donald Ross course is true to the style with great bunkering and undulating greens - some of which are enormous. The views are worth a million bucks everywhere you look and the hotel presides over all of the action. Great hospitality and golf staff make this a must play. 9-hole Mt Pleasant course makes for a nice added bonus too.

Playing golf at the Mount Washington Hotel’s course was a wicked awesome experience! As someone from Boston, I’ve seen my fair share of golf courses, but this one stands out big time. We grabbed the unlimited golf package, and it was worth every penny. If you happen to go and get the package be sure to let the staff know about it and they’ll treat you like a king. The course itself is a beauty, nestled right in the heart of the White Mountains. You get killer views of the Hotel and mountains, and the layout keeps you on your toes with a good mix of challenging and fun holes. The fairways and greens are in mint condition, making it a blast to play on. For any golf lover looking to escape the city and soak in some nature, this spot is a must. It’s a perfect getaway for a day filled with golf, gorgeous views, and that peaceful vibe we all need now and then. Can’t wait to head back up there head to the Veranda and tee it up again!
