This a nice public course. A very flat, walkable front nine that is jammed in a small space (lots of layups and dog legs) and a rolling hills back nine with a more traditional golf course feel... And wonderful views!

We arrived for a tee time just before 11am on a Saturday. It was predicted to be a stormy day, but the weather was perfect with overcast skies. The course was well groomed and fun to play. Other golfers were also very kind. We were able to get in 12 holes before the lightning and pouring rain came in. We were pleased to be given a raincheck for 9 holes in the near future, due to the rain. We are looking forward to going back to finish our last 9.

Course is in great shape, especially with the drought this season. Greens are in very good condition, tee boxes are fine and the fairways still green. Nice job of upgrading the course. Thanks

I really want to give 5 stars. Based on the other reviews I was certain we would be able to. Pros: very nice pro shop, clean, updated, friendly staff. The course is decent as far as layout, the clubhouse is nice, country and cozy aesthetically. It was hopping with a party, people playing cornhole, eating and drinking. That was great to see. Cons: the fairways are so dry, coarse and just neglected, the ant hills have set up their own villages. The greens were decent, but barely. It looked like an abandoned golf course. Dry, brown, dead. The beautiful photos you see posted by others and on their website, are not what the reality is, today 7/31/22. I get it’s been hot. But you have a golf course ….isn’t there a contingency plan? Like…watering the course. Update—owner replied which is appreciated. Yes, we could see the pride taken. Very clean facility. I would describe this establishment as a clubhouse and restaurant that happens to have a course, rather than a golf course that happens to have a clubhouse. The money put into the facility is great, but the course itself is in poor shape. It was obvious the days revenue came from the restaurant and not the course —it was dead out there in many ways. The website is misleading. But, once the new irrigation is in place this could indeed be the nicest course around! It is certainly possible. Feedback can be hard to swallow and your reply leads me to believe you agree with my feedback even though it is constructive. Good luck!

Sycamore is a beautiful course and great challenge. You can tell the owners have put a lot of effort in making your time at the club an amazing experience. I have visited 6 times this season and every time I’ve visited they’ve been working on something new. I have 0 complaints. The course, views, pro shop, and bar are phenomenal. I love the drink selection and the food choices. My favorites to order after a round are a double Buffalo Trace and the hot maple wings. It’s also really nice to see a staff that cares about the experience of your visit and the care of the course. I have always felt very welcomed and the course has been in perfect condition. This is my favorite club in the 518 and may have the hardest 18th hole. I definitely recommend several visits to Sycamore, I know I plan to be back multiple times a week to take advantage of their twilight deal. ($15 any weekday to walk 18)
