NEVER have I been so humiliated. looked down at 1:57 tee time, the cashier said $75 (not worth it) I asked about senior rate "no" vet rate "no" she informed me "no one else is complaining!" i asked about a "twilight" fee she said that's 2:00. I said I'll wait and pay after 2 then the woman bold faced lied and said that"s not going to happen we're booked solid after 2! I had $73 I explained I'm a senior with a bad knee how much to walk she said $55 ! I asked again "you're going deny me a cart for $2" she just staired at me. While I was waiting for my group a young man walked up asked me what my tee time was and said he's going off at 2:15 there where NO other golfers booked! The cashier came outside and told me and i quote "DON"T TALK TO OTHER GOLFERS!" ..(she could have given me twilight with a cart) Now let's get to the course, : THERE ARE NO BENCHES ANYWHERE THERE IS NO WATER ANYWHERE THE ONE PORTA POTTY IS SO BAD THE GOLFERS PISS ON IT OUTSIDE THE FENCE IT STINKS THE GREENS ARE NOT ROLLED (SLOW/BUMPY) 2 1/2 hours front 2hr 45 m back FIVE PLUS HOUR ROUND! There are SO many BETTER GOLFER FRIENDLY places to spend your hard earned money! Oh yeah i forgot. the Sandpipers fence runs along a cow/ pig/goat/horse farm an the stench blows right in your face half the course. STAY AWAY

My daughter's bridal shower was absolutely amazing! Mike Rodriguez went above and beyond to cater to our every need, he was simply the best! He was attentive and on top of everything from the planning stages, set up and day of. The food was delicious and the staff courteous. I would highly recommend Spring Lake Caterers for your next event!

Just finished playing 18 at Spring Lake 9/9/25! The course was great as was the day. Easy 18 hole walking course. Nice to have cart servers wing by three or 4 times during round. Chris in the pro shop was great help and great guy. Glen Head

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 – A Thanksgiving Golf Outing to Remember at Spring Lake! Our Thanksgiving outing at Spring Lake Golf Course in Middle Island, NY was nothing short of phenomenal. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and everything you could hope for on a holiday spent outdoors with great company. A huge part of what made the day exceptional was Michael, one of the standout employees at Spring Lake. His professionalism, friendliness, and attention to detail elevated the entire experience. Whether it was coordinating our group, keeping everything running smoothly, or simply checking in to make sure we had what we needed, Michael went above and beyond in every way. He truly made the outing special, and his commitment to great service didn’t go unnoticed. The food alone is reason enough to come back. Breakfast was fresh, hearty, and exactly what you want before hitting the course. But lunch stole the show especially the sausage and peppers. Perfectly seasoned, cooked to perfection, and absolutely delicious. You could tell a lot of pride was put into the meal, and it made the whole day feel even more festive. Combine all of that with Spring Lake’s beautiful course conditions and inviting atmosphere, and you’ve got a Thanksgiving outing that’s tough to beat. We’ll absolutely be returning and hoping we get to cross paths with Michael again. Highly recommend!

Update: if you read my review and photos below from 2024, the course is in unbelievable shape compared to that. Kudos to the team there. Here’s the problem with this course though: while the greens “look” great, they are some of the slowest on Long Island. I assume this is done on purpose to prevent burnout and not slow down play from super fast greens. They are very receptive but good luck trying to make a putt. The grass is kept at a higher height than other courses and they are very moist. So what happens? They become spongy. And after a few groups play on the greens, footprints everywhere if you look closely. With the combination of slow greens and bumpy footprints, your putts bounce and wobble every which way. Might be good for the recreational golfer out having fun, but if you’re any bit serious about your game, you won’t make a putt all day. 8/24 - Been playing at this course 30+ years as I grew up locally. Still come from Queens to play. Never had conditions like this. Pro Shop said it’s “wet wilt” due to a lot of rain and then excessive heat. Ok, Mother Nature happens. Yet it was still $100 for green fee, cart, and range. Felt like I was robbed. Manager listened to my complaint but didn’t seem to care at all. Won’t be back.
