Description

Pinelands is a public course set in the Pine Barrens region, offering a quieter, wooded Jersey experience that’s defined by pine-lined corridors and a traditional, no-nonsense layout. The course rewards golfers who keep the ball in play because tree lines and rough can quickly turn a hole into recovery mode. It’s not usually about overpowering the course; it’s about choosing smart lines, controlling iron distances, and avoiding short-siding around greens. The setting gives it a calm, “get out into the pines” feel that many golfers prefer to more crowded, urban courses. It’s also a great repeat-play course because the strategy becomes clearer over time—where to lay back, where to attack, and where the real trouble is. If you like classic Pinelands golf with a steady test and a relaxed vibe, Pinelands is a solid option.

Best local course around. Amazing setup, 18 quality holes, good driving range and even better practice greens for chipping and putting. To top it off they added the perfect simulator set up too. If you want to get treated like a premium member at a public course Pinelands is the way to go. Dave and Mason will take care of you every single time and set the example with the rest of staff. Could not say a bad word about this place that just seems to keep getting better and better!

The course has potential but not there. If all the holes looked like 16 (the picture I uploaded), then this would be a great course and worth what they charge. Unfortunately the Greens were the only consistent nice part as after the 30 yards around them, there’s no rough, it’s just rocks and dirt/sand which one shot in the “rough” had rocks under the grass and dented my club. The fairway is half grass, half sand. The new tee boxes on the back 9 look nice but still a few weeks out so had to play the tees from the fairway wish they should’ve told us as they still charged us $70 and not worth that. A lot here was left to be desired

Great course! Fun layout and the conditions couldn’t really get any better. First time playing it today and will definitely be back!

I was invited to play here this past Saturday kind of last minute to fill out a foursome. I'm about an hour north of this course so it wasn't really on my radar - had no idea what to expect. I had never been to Pinelands before. When we pulled in, it reminded me of a country club atmosphere, in a good way. Everyone was well dressed and it seemed very orderly. We paid up and went over to the range to hit balls. The range was good. Practice green was fine. The staters were great at informing us of where we were in terms of when to be ready to go to first tee. The course itself was very nice and in great shape. We played from the blue tees which made for some challenging holes. The greens were pretty fast and I found them to be the biggest challenge of my round as some of them had different levels to them. If you weren't near the hole on your approach it was difficult getting up and down. After the round we ate in the restaurant and it was very good. There was live music, and once again seemed like a private club atmosphere. I ordered the roast pork "Philly Special" sandwich. No lie, this was one of the best sandwiches I've eaten in a long time. It was THAT GOOD.

This is a great course. It’s not so wide open, but I also wouldn’t say it’s to narrow. The tree lines are perfect. If you’re more into bunker play, there aren’t to many bunkers but there are a few. They never came into play for me, except the 18th hole. I shot my lowest score ever on the course yesterday. 81 which for me is great. What I really enjoyed about this course was there are 5 par 3’s and 5 par 5s. What I did not like about the course was- they open at 7. My tee time was 7:36 so I got there for open and I wanted to hit some balls. I got a bucket and the mowers were mowing the lawn by the driving range and wouldn’t mow around me. It was like I was inconveniencing them. I was highly frustrated at this as I was trying to warm up. I should’ve went back to get my money back for the bucket but it is what it is. I will be back to play for sure.
