Check-in was incredibly welcoming, and the staff were truly top-notch throughout our stay. The evenings in the lobby offered great touches like board games and s’mores by the fire, creating a warm and relaxing atmosphere. Our room was exceptionally spacious and beautifully maintained. The views cannot be beat. The only downside was receiving an email a week before arrival noting the hot tub would be out of service—disappointing given the season, especially with no adjustment to resort fees despite the amenity closure. Overall, a wonderful stay with one small blemish.

Always a pleasant stay! Rooms are spacious and clean, all the staff are friendly and accommodating. We love going here for our personal break. 💖 It's great for families because there are a lot of things to do in the hotel and around the area, but if you are going as a couple, book during the workweek; weekends tend to be hectic. Tip: Try to get a lake view room when you book.

An incredibly pleasant hotel right on the shores of Lake Tahoe. The view of the sunset over the lake is truly breathtaking. The rooms are spotless, spacious, and comfortable, making it easy to relax after a long day. The staff is warm and genuinely welcoming, adding a personal touch to the stay. The property itself is vast, beautifully maintained, and fully secure, with convenient valet parking. A perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the beauty of Tahoe.

We came back to Edgewood to celebrate our anniversary after an incredible experience last year, but this visit was a complete disappointment from start to finish. Last year’s stay felt magical — thoughtful touches, genuine hospitality, and staff that made us feel truly valued. This time, everything felt transactional, careless, and completely out of sync with the level of service you’d expect from a “luxury” resort. We waited over an hour for our room at check-in. While I understand check-in is listed at 4 PM, what made last year so special was how proactive the team was — reaching out before our stay, asking our ETA, and even arranging an early check-in. This year? Nothing. Just an automated email. No personal follow-up, no warmth, no attention to detail. Upon arrival, we were never offered Prosecco, despite management later claiming this is standard. We even requested champagne glasses through both the concierge and the in-room iPad, and they never arrived — despite following up twice. The new restaurant was another miss: average food, slow service, and I sat for over five minutes with my entrée in front of me before anyone brought silverware. For what we paid, it was embarrassing. We also used the Spa and paid $750 for a couples massage. When we checked in, I asked the front desk for envelopes and mentioned they were for tips. The receptionist acknowledged that — but never once mentioned that gratuity was already included in the final bill. Only when checking out did we find that out. For a spa that charges those rates, that kind of misleading communication is unacceptable. To make matters worse, management’s written response to our feedback included multiple typos, inaccurate claims, and even referenced amenities we never received — like a “custom-made pastry amenity with chocolate golf decorations” that simply didn’t exist. The only thing we received was a small piece of chocolate raspberry bark at dinner, which felt more like an afterthought than a gesture for guests spending over $4,200 on an anniversary stay. Last year, Edgewood made us feel special. This year, it felt like everything was about upselling and cutting corners. The service lacked sincerity, the communication was careless, and even management’s follow-up failed to show pride or accountability. For what we spent, the value — and the magic — simply weren’t there. Edgewood has turned into what feels like a corporate money grab instead of the world-class resort it once was. It’s sad to see such a beautiful property lose what made it truly special.

The property itself is beautiful and hard to beat! My husband and I got married here two years ago and so it holds a place dear to our heart. However, our last stay here this past week was very disappointing in the service department specifically the Pool, Valet, and whoever is in charge of setting up anniversary gifts in the rooms. For this price point and top tier hotel the service should be expected to be top tier as well. We want to come back every year to stay here but the service is making us consider other options. We are always happy to tip great service but when you don’t receive a tip instead of getting mad maybe try to understand why it wasn’t given instead and do better.
