Description

Augusta Winds in Stapleton is a simple, wind-exposed nine where the prairie sets the tone. Fairways are straightforward, the greens honest, and the round moves quickly perfect for a casual loop. Locals keep it in playable shape through the heat of summer, and the vibe is decidedly unpretentious. Without a driving range, you'll want to stretch on the putting green and find your tempo on the opener. On breezy days the 3,200-plus yards play much longer than the card suggests.

Played in early July, conditioning was pretty good for a course that has an honor box for green fees. Was really impressed with the quality of the holes, elevation changes, and risk/reward decisions. It's easy to lose a lot of golf balls if you miss the fairway. I am looking forward to playing it again.

We went here for the eclipse and it was phenomenal. Staff was amazing and incredibly helpful. Town is full of good people. Course is really beautiful. We especially loved the little pond.
