I really enjoyed my time at Shadow Lake. The owner was incredibly friendly which made the start of the day great. I found the course itself just beautiful. The scenery and ambiences of the course were amazing. The holes were challenging yet fair. Some of the greens needed some maintenance, yet owner let me know ahead of time so it wasn't a problem to me. I certainly plan to go back anytime I am in the area (usually for my nephew's fishing tournaments!)

I drove by this past weekend and was so disappointed to see that it is closed and basically looks abandoned. It looked like a lot of large trees had been cut down as well. This was a beautiful course that we used to play. What happened? 😞

Clubhouse disaster roof is rotting, power lines hanging down 5 ft of ground from wind damage. No attempt has been made to fix anything, cart paths are dangerous some sink holes bridges are mostly broken and dangerous carts are wore out. I would not recommend this golf course to anyone due to the dangerous condition. Greens are some kind of plastic the whole place is a accident looking for a place to happen.

It's not great if you want great greens for putting. The back 9 is in better shape than the front 9. It is great if you love a great view of the countryside, don't want to be rushed by other golfers on a crowded course, and like to have fun. The fairways were in good shape. The staff is incredibly hospitable and kind - that goes a long way with me. Update: unfortunately greens are worse now. Instead of grass it’s astroturf. I hope the owner gets some cash flow soon, so he can fix the place up.

Don't waste your time. Played it for several years and it was fun, unique course. Now it's run down, the price is higher ($50 for cart and 18) and there are articficial greens that aren't installed correctly and they only take up about half the space of the previous greens. If you are in the area I recommend driving a litle further to Dream Valley in Buffalo, MO.
