Description

Carved through an old quarry with wetlands and stone backdrops, The Quarry delivers one of St. Louis' more distinctive visuals. The routing uses quarry walls, lakes, and valley winds to make club selection feel a club longer—or shorter—than you expect. Several holes tempt hero lines that can pay big dividends or end in a re-tee; locals know when to throttle down. Conditioning is typically solid, and the practice range is among the area's largest. It's scenic, strategic, and memorable without feeling gimmicky.

I love the Quarry even if it doesn't love me as my scores here continue to prove to me. Certainly a challenging course with some cool holes, a great driving range with grass tees and mats, a seperate chipping area, practice bunker and putting green. Staff is always incredibly friendly. One of the best public courses in the St. Louis area.

An early morning round at Quarry at Crystal Springs in Maryland Heights, MO, was a peaceful experience. The sunrise illuminated the course beautifully, showcasing its well-maintained greens and fairways. The perfect setting for a fun and relaxing round of golf. I had an enjoyable time playing! I made a YouTube video to share with friends.

This review is focused on the club house and driving range, not the course itself. The course is actually quite nice to play with great hole layouts, great conditions, plenty of water to make things challenging, and an all around fun place to play. The people working there are great as well. Over the years though, there seem to be growing gaps of maintenance and presentation that undercut what could otherwise be a top-tier facility. The abandoned miniature golf course that greets guests is probably what most negatively impacts the quality of the experience. The concrete in this area is broken up, the turf is ripped apart and just laying there like trash, and the lights are mostly shattered with exposed wires and pieces of glass laying around. What's most perplexing, is that cleaning this up to make a small park or just a place with grass seems like it would take one or two weekends to completely overhaul. The same lack of care is seen throughout the parking lot where weeds have overgrown what used to be the decorative plantings in the various parking medians. The general look and feel is that it was abandoned years ago. It'd be great to see a modest portion of the budget invested into sprucing up the miniature golf area and parking lot and anything else that regularly needs attention. A little TLC could shift The Quarry from "not bad for the price" to "an excellent choice" for St. Louis golfers.

Great course. The staff was friendly and nice to talk to. After an Uber ride declined us due to golf bags, Nash stepped up and gave us a ride to the airport. Outstanding customer service. Going above and beyond!!! We thank all of you!

I enjoyed playing this course. Although Google says they open at 0730, when I called at the end of the day on Thursday Caroline said if I got there when they opened at 0630 they could probably fit me in. I was paired with 71 yr old Mike and his wife who didn't look close to 71 even though they had been married forever. We all walked and as the second group off finished in 3 hr 15 minutes. Grass is good in all the fairways. Greens are smooth. Many have pretty severe undulations. There are a lot of dogleg. $33 was a senior or military rate which isn't horrible. I would have paid the $40 but that is pretty expensive to walk on a weekday. The walk is very manageable but 9 is not close to the clubhouse. Walkers are committed to 18 holes. Very nice course I would play again. The video shows the only long walk on the course.
