Avoid this place, I'd be willing to bet I could get a class action lawsuit based upon what I've seen here. They do ad little as possible, I'm the only reason people live here is because there is a housing shortage in Oxford and people are desperate.
When I moved into my apartment, it had a strong musty smell. On top of that, I quickly realized my HVAC system mixed air with one of my neighbors because whenever they would smoke weed, my apartment reeked of it, as well as cigarette smoke. I'm pretty sure this violates some kind of health code. But the musty smell was always there, and all they would do was deodorizer bombs. They did bring an ozone machine, and it helped for about a day and a half, but the smell came back. I did my own investigating and found that there was tons of black mold growing inside my HVAC system, and the insulation inside was soaking wet. I sent them pictures. They said the drain for the air conditioner was clogged, and they fixed that but didn't do anything about the wet moldy insulation. I spent several hundred dollars of my own money trying to get rid of it, but the smell keeps coming back because the mold keeps growing after I disinfect.
If you don't pay your rent in 7 days, they will disable your ability to pay online and force you to pay with a money order. If you don't pay within nine days, they add court costs and attorney fees for an eviction.
I was moving out because of the mold, but I ended up having to stay one extra month beyond my lease, which costs an extra $150. I had automatic payments set up and forgot to pay my last month, so I had to go get a money order. They wouldn't give me a receipt for it.... she said they don't do receipts.
There are a lot of drugs and crime at this apartment complex. There's been at least one shooting that I know of this year, and I know three people who have had their catalytic converter stolen in the parking lot. I also heard some students on campus talking about coming out here to buy weed. I would give it zero stars if that was an option.
The photos are of the black mold that Is inside my HVAC system and growing ANYWHERE it is even slightly dark or wet. It's still in the HVAC system, but I do a weekly treatment of chlorine dioxide gas to keep it at bay, and this helps with the smell, but it always comes back. The reason I'm moving out is they won't remove the moldy insulation inside the HVAC, which is still growing mold and still smells up the apartment. I have even blasted hot air into the HVAC system for three full days with a hair dryer, and I stuck a UV lamp that produces ozone inside the HVAC, but the mold always, always comes back.
After I killed my third brown recluse spider I called them for an insect treatment, but to be honest I would take them over the black mold.
