Bay Pointe Golf Course, West Bloomfield, MI: 👍👍👍👎👎 Bay Pointe Golf Course is a scenic local track set along Middle Straits Lake, offering golfers tree-lined fairways and water views in a suburban setting. Our foursome last played here about four years ago and remembered it as closer to a 4-star experience. This time, however, the conditions and service felt noticeably weaker, bringing the overall impression down to a 3-star round. COURSE QUALITY👎: The biggest disappointment this visit. Cart paths are broken in many places, forcing slow and careful driving. Tee boxes were beaten up, fairways needed cleanup, and maintenance overall seemed neglected. The greens were the best part — in decent condition and rolling fairly true — but it wasn’t enough to offset the rougher areas. SERVICE & HOSPITALITY👎: Our early Saturday round was undermined by the pro shop opening late, leaving us waiting at our tee time. On course, no ranger was present to help manage play or assist golfers. Staff we interacted with were polite enough, but the overall service lacked attentiveness and consistency. AMENITIES👍: A highlight here is the updated facilities. The restrooms and changing areas appear newly renovated, making the clubhouse appealing for events and parties. For golfers, though, amenities don’t make up for the maintenance shortcomings out on the course. PACE OF PLAY👍: Despite no ranger oversight, pace was just okay for our foursome. We moved along steadily with some waiting but nothing excessive. On busier days, though, the lack of a ranger could easily become a bigger issue. LOCATION & ACCESSIBILITY👍: Bay Pointe’s suburban West Bloomfield location is convenient, and its setting along the lake adds charm. It’s easy to get to from metro Detroit, making it a practical option for local golfers. In summary, Bay Pointe Golf Course still offers a scenic round with solid amenities, but the maintenance issues and lack of oversight brought our experience down compared to years past. What was once a 4-star stop for us now feels closer to 3 stars. With stronger upkeep and better management, this course could regain its earlier reputation and deliver more consistent value. 2021 Bay Pointe Golf Club - got a chance to play in November! Leaves were all over and made tough to play but summer weather not expected in November. Staff and support was great. Overall good experience and will come back.

A great morning on the course the course today. I’ve been driving past this golf course for 40 years. And I have never played it. It was gorgeous and fun. The course was in good shape.

We played 10/10/25. Course is overall in good shape. Some tee boxes were a little beat up but mainly the par 3's where everyone mainly use irons and I can see what other reviews mean about cart paths because they were definitely some of the worst I've ever seen. Fairways were a little dried out but nothing crazy. Greens were great, some of the fastest I've ever putted on and not due to being burnt out or anything. Alot of cool holes on the water to (we only played the front 9) only other thing I would say is some of the holes by the clubhouse are in tough spots. If you hit something long your definitely breaking a window. Otherwise neat design. Only real negative I had for the day is we had a group of younger kids on number 8 when we were on hole 5 they parked their carts straight on the green then proceeded to drive off and then back on and do a donut around the flag makeing tire marks all over the green.

Called the course and got some kid on the phone. Tells me carts need to be in by 5:30, sounds good to me. Then doesn’t let me make a tee time for 18 holes even when I said I’d have the cart in by 5:00 (30 minutes early) because “I’d most likely be the only one left out on the course at that time”. Are the carts due by 5:30 or are we only allowing tee times that are convenient enough for employees to be able to go home early? Website allows you to book 18 until 2:54pm and then it switches to 9 holes. Kid wouldn’t let me book anything after 2:00pm. Keep in mind just played there a couple days ago and the middle aged guy let me and a buddy go out at 2:40, we finished by 4:55. I don’t do even do reviews but I point blank asked this kid what I needed to do to make it work and he was fumbling his words around trying to essentially explain the fact that if I’m not there playing, he can go home early.

I have been living down the road for over 10 yrs now and finally went and did the 18. Gorgeous piece of land and a lot of straight fairways. Golfing next to the lake just adds to the attraction.
