Located in Philly but travel to Ann Arbor for work often so my 2A buddies told me we had to check this place out. Wow ! This is now going to be a yearly trip. The Loop was the coolest course I’ve played in a long time. So fun. FD was also a fantastic course….so many great holes and just a mashup of different styles of golf in one course.

Forest Dunes is a golf destination that absolutely lives up to the hype. From the moment we arrived, every staff member we encountered was incredibly helpful, friendly, and clearly passionate about the experience they help create. The courses — Bootlegger, The Dunes, and The Loop — were immaculate. Each offered a unique but equally stunning layout, with a great balance of fun and challenge. The Bootlegger in particular was such a great vibe — playing the par 3 barefoot with music on outdoor speakers throughout and drinks in hand was golf joy. The clubhouse blends golf heritage with a modern touch — a great place to relax post-round. The pro shop was stocked with high-end brands and unique gear that made it hard not to buy something. Our villa accommodations were just as impressive: clean, well-organized, and super comfortable, with the huge bonus of every bedroom having its own private bathroom. Beds were comfortable, showers had great water pressure, and the space was perfect for unwinding after a long day on the course. Food was top-notch. I had a perfectly cooked filet on night two and some of the best pizza I’ve ever had on night three. The staff even had our food ready right when we finished our round — a really thoughtful touch that didn’t go unnoticed. A couple of minor cons: the WiFi in the villas wasn’t the strongest, making it tough to FaceTime family, and the kitchens don’t have dishwashers or disposals — so just be mindful with food cleanup. Also, the golf carts will shut off if you get too close to the edge of the fairway, even if you’re not that close to the rough. None of these were deal-breakers, just things to be aware of. I’m also not sure the Loop and Dunes should be the same cost, but for a full getaway where we played all the courses, it’s just a part of the experience so money well spent for a golf trip. We can’t wait to come back.

In fabulous shape. Not overly difficult, but good challenging greens. Great range, putting course, dinning indoor and outdoor. All around great pure golf experience

5 stars because the 3 courses absolutely justify the rating. However, the rest of the experience is 3-4 stars. Read below for more info: Staff: 4.5 stars. Had wonderful interactions with all but 2 employees. Had 1 lukewarm experience and 1 downright unpleasant experience. But overall, everyone is very kind and helpful. The starters and cart staff are wonderful. Check-in staff is great. Waitress staff is hit or miss. Food: 3.5 stars. Breakfast is overpriced and not good. The pizza was fantastic!! 5 stars for the Loop pizza. Desserts were not great. Lodging: 3 stars. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. BUT the lodging is old, dated and tired. And my shower flooded the entire bathroom because the drain didn’t work. Golf: 5 stars. the entire reason you come here. So that’s why the overall rating is 5 stars. Forest Dunes does not have a bad hole and 9, 17 and 18 are some of the best I’ve played. Also the 19th hole is pretty dang sweet! Practice facilities, the range and the bootlegger short course are all wonderful. But my FAVORITE part of this place was the Loop. Doak evokes “love him or hate him” vibes and I LOVE him! Love his creativity, ingenuity and how he sees the game and no where else is his brilliance on display more than the loop. I played the red on Friday night and the black routing on Saturday morning and it’s mind blowing. Not to mention the courses are fantastic with fun, amazing holes. Will be back for the golf. Might try and find an Airbnb nearby next time.

Great place to golf and spend a few nights. We stayed onsite for two nights in a two bedroom (with kitchen and living room) unit. We played the main course (dunes) along with the loop (both Red and black). We preferred the dunes course, but the loops is interesting, especially the second time you play it (in the other direction). The practice area is included with the price of the round and it's amazing. They also have a cool 12 hole (I think) par three course that is right next to the outdoor bar. Lot's of fun to play after our round (they have music playing outside - speakers everywhere). Third time playing here and I would come back again. 2.5-3 hours north of the Detroit Area.
