Maples Golf Club is a quaint 9-hole public course that excels in providing an accessible and enjoyable golfing experience for beginners and families. With its affordable rates, it's the perfect place for those new to the game or kids eager to learn the basics. The course layout is a bit tight since it’s built into a neighborhood with many homes and condos back right up to the course. The fairways and greens could use some love but it’s hard to expect much for a course we were able to walk onto for 15$ for 9-holes. The staff we encountered were very friendly. Overall, Maples Golf Club provides a great value for an enjoyable day of golf. Whether you're a beginner honing your skills or a family looking for a fun outdoor activity, this course is a fantastic option.

I was intially going to leave a 2 star review. However, after reading some of the others it seems like the management at Maples Golf Club seems receptive and prompt to constructive feedback. I like that. The pro shop was pleasant and kind over the phone as well as in person. Club rentals were adequate and fairly priced. As happy I was with the staff equates to about as unhappy I was with the course. You can expect some greens to dry out or swamp down during a mid August Michigan summer. But I can't explain what may have caused the greens to be so sandy on today's particular visit. On over 3 occasions I can specifically recall the debris covering the green around the hole caused my ball to stop dead in its tracks. I'll play this course again someday in the future.
