Iv been waiting to post this review because I wanted to really reflect on the experience. The ONLY reason I’m giving it three stars and not less is because the staff was kind and listened to our concerns. Iv only been playing for a year but I try to make it a point to play a different course every time. As you read in previous reviews the pace isn’t the best. We did get paired with two other guys but they were cool and I don’t really mind meeting new people. The worst part of the whole experience had nothing to do with the course, but the players behind us. On the 18th hole the couple behind us felt like it was appropriate to stand on our tbox and start YELLING at us about how slow we were playing. Mind you- we had a walker in front of us that wasn’t even half way down the course so we couldn’t tee off. The “girlfriend” actually got violent and tried to attack us. It was unacceptable, and they clearly didn’t know the etiquette of golf. We did bring it to the managers attention and I can only hope they were banned. As for the course it’s kind of boring. I do prefer more of a challenge. Also- if you’re a lady make sure you come prepared with your own toiletries.

I have played at Rackham for several years and it is in the best condition it has been in for a long time. The greens are great. Do not be in a hurry. The course gets a lot of play, between leagues and regular golfers. Bring a snack and you favorite beverage and enjoy.

This is a great old school golf course in a relatively urban setting. It isn’t the longest or most difficult course, but it’s enjoyable and the staff is accommodating. Remember, this is a 100 year old municipal course that caters to all types of skill levels and cannot serve alcohol because if deed restrictions. Adjust your expectations accordingly. Pace of play us typically very good, but it is a busy course. The new management company has really improved the facility. Rackham was in better shape this year than some of the very expensive places I’ve played. It’s also my 9 year old’s favorite course. I will continue to come back and enjoy this gem of a course.

Pretty straight forward golf course. Most of the holes are straight. Not a lot of fancy stuff as far as hazards. No major water hazards. The biggest drawback of this course is that its a dry course. So you cant buy any beer or drinks here. Otherwise its a decent track. Decently maintained. And there's a zoo next door. 😂

Oct 10th - paid summer rate in mid-October ($60) and quit after 12 holes and 3 1/2 hours of absurdity slow pace vs Oct 14th $36 at Links of Novi and finished 18 holes in 4hrs flat. I only play Rackham and stack em because it’s 1/4 mile from my house but at those rates and with no ranger to speed up play in comparison to real golf courses I won’t be playing here again.
