Designed to be accessible for players of all skill levels, the course features tree-lined fairways and a mix of open and challenging holes that provide a balanced test. For our foursome playing here for the first time, the experience was largely positive, though the service and time management left a lot to be desired. COURSE QUALITY👍: The layout is straightforward but engaging, with several holes requiring accuracy off the tee. Fairways and greens were in good condition, though some tee boxes could use a little more care. Overall, the course offers a pleasant round without overwhelming first-time players, and its walkable design is a plus. SERVICE & HOSPITALITY👎: This was the biggest drawback of our visit. As first-time players, we found the cart paths and hole directions unclear and mistakenly drove to the 3rd hole instead of the 1st. When the ranger corrected us, the comment—“where are you going?”—came off curt rather than polite, which wasn’t the best first impression. On top of that, the ranger did not effectively manage pace of play. Our group teed off first and played the front nine quickly, but the back nine dragged almost twice as long as we had to wait on nearly every hole. More attentive monitoring and better communication would have made for a smoother, friendlier experience. AMENITIES👍: The course has the essentials—practice green, pro shop, and clubhouse food options—sufficient for a municipal course. While not flashy, everything needed for a solid round is available. The carts were in good working order, and the clubhouse atmosphere was casual and friendly. PACE OF PLAY👍: The front nine was brisk and enjoyable, but the back nine slowed considerably due to poor pace management. While this is often a challenge on busy days, having a ranger present who actively manages the flow of play could have prevented the long waits we experienced. LOCATION & ACCESSIBILITY👍: Conveniently located in Farmington Hills, the course is easily accessible from metro Detroit. Parking was plentiful, and check-in was simple. Its suburban location makes it a popular spot for both locals and casual golfers looking for a reliable place to play without a long drive. In summary, Farmington Hills Golf Club provides a solid municipal golf experience with well-kept fairways and greens and a straightforward layout that’s approachable for a wide range of players. However, service and pace management fell short, leaving the impression that first-time visitors and flow of play were not priorities. With friendlier rangers, clearer signage, and more active oversight on the back nine, this course could greatly improve its overall experience.

Our nonprofit held a fundraiser golf outing at the FHGC in September 2022. Everyone had a great time! We heard nothing but praises about how nice the course is and how the staff were very accommodating, professional and kind. We couldn't have asked for better weather. Jamie and his staff saw to our every need in a timely manner. The Pines Restaurant gave excellent service and the food was outstanding! Kathy and her team knows how to treat everyone like family. Our guests, staff and volunteers were so pleased with their experience. One golfer stated, "This was the best Scramble I've ever attended." Kudos to Jamie, Kathy and their teams on a job well done.

Great layout. Nicely maintained golf course. Haven't played here a lot, but it's definitely worth another visit.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Farmington Hills Golf Course is a gem! As a non-meat eater, I was thrilled to find their delicious veggie wrap on the menu. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making the experience even better. The greens were challenging, adding an extra layer of fun to the game. The course itself is beautifully maintained, offering stunning views throughout. Highly recommended for both the food and the golfing experience!
