I just recently played 18 holes here for the first time. Previous visits I have used their driving range multiple times. I can say the driving range is very nice and there are even private areas usually available for no extra charge. The staff was friendly and we had an excellent day of golf here. I felt like all the greens and tee boxes were in good shape, and overall, the course was beautiful. It's a great place to spend a few hours playing golf. Having a beverage cart employee coming around is a nice bonus. A lot of courses no longer offer that service, and when you are playing 18 holes, getting refreshments is great.

Great course. Awesome layout. Fairways were in great condition, could easily tell the difference between the fairway and rough. But people do not like to fix the divots on the greens. That's the reason for 4 stars. Would have to repair 4 divots per green. Fixing that many still left many left to be repaired. Would give 4 1/2 stars. Was awesome to see a family teaching their young daughter how to play. Overall was a great place to play.

Made the turn with nearly 25 minutes of daylight left, got our tee shots off, only to get pushed off the course so the kid could go home. We could have easily hit our putts on hole 1, did a par 4 hole 2, and then a par 4 hole 3. I made it all the way back to ironwood and they still had a few golfers out since it was still daylight. Such a bummer, for so called premium course In East Lansing.

Course is good, the poor rating does not reflect on the course as a whole. The practice range has a lot of potential, but the condition of the grass tee area is generally pretty bad. I understand the range gets a lot of traffic, but for a school with a turfgrass management program I would expect greater care to keep the grass on the range in good shape. You can find a quality spot here and there, but the majority of the range is basically playing out of sand/dirt with sparse grass growing out of it. Let's start over and get some sod out there next year!

Conditions were ok, great price at $37 for 18 fall twilight rate I believe. Only problem was pace of play was horrendous. Most holes had 3-4 groups on them, had to leave after 9.
