This is easily the worst golf course in Massachusetts. I played this course a few weeks ago with a few groups of buddies and could not have had a worse time. Don’t get me wrong, the course was in pretty good shape, however the snails pace of play and the staff attitude completely outweighed any positives on the actual course. We went to play 9 later in the afternoon, hoping that there would be some relief in the amount of people on the course, however the tee times 4 minutes apart made that impossible. Walking up to the first tee, there were already 3 groups waiting to tee off. It was a beautiful day so we figured, screw it we’ll play the 9 get out at a reasonable time and all will be well. It took around 2.5 hours just to get to Hole 6 and we had not seen the beverage cart the whole time either. Once finishing 6, we approached the beverage cart for a couple of drinks, and this is when the course GM Lenny French came out and decided to go on a power trip. He blamed all pace of play on the fact that we had 4 groups back to back, however we were all still stacked on top of each other. I was in the final group and he told us to pass the 4some that we came with and play the hole ahead of them. He then went up to that group, told them to skip the hole they were on and go to the next one. They put all 8 of us on one tee box and then were extremely rude and angry when he came around and saw all of us there. This prompted our group to skip holes 8&9 and head elsewhere as we had already wasted an afternoon there and it was just not worth our time. So not only is he an terrible human being in general, he has no clue how playing through or running a golf course works. I would not suggest this course to anybody, beginner or pro. I play plenty of golf, especially in the Massachusetts area, and never in my life have I seen a course run as poorly as this one is. I am assuming they are trying to sell the course, so they are trying to squeeze in as many tee times as possible to make as much money as they can before this happens. Terrible business with terrible customer service. NEVER GO HERE!!!!

Fun course but it took us 1.5 hours to get through the first 4 holes, ending the round at 5.5 hours. Some of the tee boxes were more sand than grass. The greens are a mine field of pitch parks. $80 to walk is very steep for the conditions provided.

Extremely disappointed with the condition of this course. The fairways and greens were in rough shape, and the cart paths were practically unusable — full of rocks and potholes that made for a miserable ride. Not a single seed mix or sand bottle on any cart to repair divots, which just shows a lack of basic course maintenance. It felt like the staff had completely given up on upkeep. For the price, this place is nowhere near worth it. Won’t be coming back and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone serious about golf.

Solid course, fun layout. Pretty much get what you’re paying for in terms of golf, maybe a little overpriced. The starter told me I legally couldn’t play from the back tees, and the round pace is 6 hours. Waiting for 10+ minutes to tee off on every hole. Brutal waiting + starter was pretty rude

First time playing Maplegate was a great experience. The course is a challenge from every tee box. I will be returning.
