I came and helped my daughter moved in this week and I am pleased with her apartment choice. Her unit is clean and well-maintained with gorgeous landscaping and amenities. The area feels very safe for her and has many walking paths nearby—it’s a great place to enjoy the outdoors. The apartment interiors are well laid out, but whoever chose the flooring, lights, cabinets, etc has terrible decor tastes. However, with the right decor, we made it look super cozy and warm. We had one issue with kitchen water pressure, and they fixed that right away! ❤️ Pros: - It's a great overall value • Excellent size! Both living room and bedroom are huge. • Great location near shopping • Beautiful grounds • Huge pool, very nice • Gym, volleyball, golf, and more • Clean, well-maintained apartment • In-unit laundry • Responsive maintenance • Like-new appliances • no odors in carpet • Awesome amount of kitchen storage • Walk-in closet • 10-foot ceilings Cons: - The interior design is a hodgepodge that could be greatly fixed with $800-$1200 per unit in updates. - The air vents are SO loud and also blast the kitchen. - Parking lot has blind curves and speed limit of 10 mph totally ignored.

I've been living at The Links for almost four months now and I’ve really enjoyed it so far. Finding a quiet and safe place for my daughter and I was a top priority, and this place has definitely delivered. It feels more like a real home than just an apartment, which I really appreciate. Any time I’ve had a question or needed something, the maintenance team and office staff have been super helpful. I'm looking forward to settling in even more and getting to know the community better.

My unit and some of my friends and neighbors have roaches. Management are not kind people so it’s best you not request any sort of service. They decorate the office and send emails to tenants though. Golf maintenance has had a pile of sand in the parking lot since I moved here a few years ago. The abandoned vehicles make it inconvenient for people to have guests over. It’s kinda hard to rave when no one can find parking, but at least stereos can still be enjoyed by all regardless the guest count or the hour. Some folks get their garbage almost in the dumpster, then give up and leave it dumpster-adjacent scattered on the ground. I suspect they are the same people who leave the dog poo in the yard. The building maintenance crew is fantastic! I do like them. They bump the rev from one star to two.

ROACH INFESTATION Update 3: I dropped off a sealed baggie of glue traps filled with roaches today and left them outside the office. I was then called and accused of harassment by the property manager. The issue is not resolved, I have not been able to spend a single night in the unit. The roaches that are dying from the spray are laying egg sacks on my carpet. Sharron thanked me for the “gifts” aka the baggie. I have never dealt with more unprofessional management in my life. Update 2: my unit was routinely sprayed and will need to be sprayed again for the next two weeks. This will be the entire first month of my lease that I will have been unable to live in my unit. They have offered me no other accommodations or offered to discount or refund my August rent. Their management continues to be rude and deliver awful service. Update: management has refused to provide other accommodations for me while I wait for routine maintenance on the unit. They refuse to have an emergency exterminator come in. They claim they don’t have the number of their corporate office and that no one in the office does. Property director, Sharron even blamed me for the infestation and implied I lacked "common sense". The rudest customer service experience I've ever had. This has been the most nightmare-like HELLISH experience I’ve ever had. I wish I never laid eyes on this property. DO NOT COME HERE

UPDATE: Just received paper wedged in my door frame, they refuse to use the phone, email or text for communication that my lease expires in January 2025. I moved in January 18, 2023. 14 days later I get multiple papers wedged in my door that I my past due on rent...I just PAID close to $1500 just 12 days prior...2 days later another note stuck in the door... to do quarterly inspections of apartments... Shortly after that a notice to inspect Fire extinguishers to enter my apartment...SO please tell me, what does maintenance do ? They do not clean or service apartments before next tenant. Water bill....after living here and having a near 20% RENT RATE INCREASE after living here 21 months I discovered that they also profit off us 100% by doubling ALL WATER BILLS from the City of Lawrence. I had them AUDIT my account and learned from the City of Lawrence that THE LINKS - Lindsey Properties DOUBLE your water bill. Long story short my proposed rent increase for 2025 is $1,550 after all the gouge you fees as well as the $30 a month "Convenience Charge to set up autopay. IN JUST 21 MONTHS MY RENT AND UTILITY WILL BE A COMBINED INCREASE TO $1550 A MONTH!!! $500 PER MONTH TOTAL PRICE INCREASE TO A CURRENT SENIOR CITIZEN RESIDENT ON FIXED INCOME! Non existent customer service. Maintenance that has to sublet nearly every repair so nothing gets addressed quickly. Have a “We don’t do that” syndrome where they avoid ANY responsibility, trash and dog poop concerns are met with resistance and disrespect. Grass scalped too low for heat, bag worms killing all trees, only address issues with pictures and request thru dashboard portal. If you talk to a representative the messages never get passed along such as dangerous tall piles of mulch by the playground 5’ tall that little tykes climb on top of with concrete all around. Spray weed killer everywhere including in front of A/C units that are now clogged up with dirt due to vegetation killer applied in front of all a/c units. DOG poop bags were out for one month. Took 6 maintenance requests to address something that should be done regularly. Place only addresses issues with complaints. There is No forward thinking. Apartments are promised without proper maintenance or reconditioning. Allow majority to move in with issues so Manager gets his $$$ quarterly bonuses to keep vacancies low and over promise and under deliver. Changes on portal with no notice by staff. ZERO Community involvement or interaction. How do you manage without ANY PEOPLE or communication skills? Most leave office upset because nothing ever gets done. Connivence charges of nearly $100 added to the bill with little to no explanation. What started out as 2 bedroom at $960 is actually a 2 BR for $1,200. Price gouging if handicapped and need first floor access of extra $$$ . Dog poop everywhere as well as trash. Recycling was basically eliminated as well. When mowing , runs over everything, metal, cans, glass creating shrapnel… seriously? Who really seriously cares about this property? More time is spent driving around by maintenance staff than doing there duties. 2 people to replace an air filter… much needs to be done and much is ignored…. More time appears to be spent at maintenance man’s apartment than what they should be doing. Turnover has been horrible with staff.
