Description

The University Club at Arlington serves as a home venue for collegiate golf while welcoming daily play and memberships. The course favors thoughtful positioning, with risk-reward par 5s and demanding par 3s that test long-iron control. Well-maintained greens are the defense, encouraging confident putting strokes from inside ten feet. Practice areas, including short-game stations and range targets, support player development. The facility's collegiate connection fosters a performance-oriented environment throughout the year.

Greens are always in great shape with tons of slope and break!! Solid course from the tips! One of the best entrances around in Kentucky, pulling into the course through the large iron gates... Pro shop an average size with a decent selection of clubs and good selection of shirts with their logo ( logo ain't too bad!! ) ... Restaurant and bar is very good... Strongly suggest to play it at least once

Review of Arlington Country Club; from a former golf professional with 10 years experience at both private and public facilities in Wisconsin and Kentucky, now a current golf member since 2024. The course is often in good shape throughout the year, elevation and green undulation offer a decent challenge despite being a relatively short course. Amenities like the pool, tennis/pickleball courts and workout facilities are great and very popular! The grill has good food and is well priced! Top of the list is the rear practice facility, which is nearly perfect despite not having available parking. It is a multi tiered range with an indoor facility open to members with a putting room and training aids. The cherry on top is a large putting green and short game area stretching out to about 50yds with a deep bunker. Overall, that back range is a young golfers dream. The golf staff is kind and amenable but would love them to be more involved with membership by going out to play with golf members more often. Other than that, we have a very large golf membership hungry to use up their free lessons each summer, would love to see the golf staff push to give those lessons! Overall the staff is great! Just small critiques. From a golf member perspective, league has gotten a lot better in 2025 since there is a member elected/run golf committee in charge of league events. Communication about ongoing events has also improved in 2025, however a more updated calendar and/or sending the membership texts/emails regarding college events would be appreciated. Arlington is a relatively inexpensive membership compared to other country clubs. With that in mind, some typical services that most country clubs offer do not happen at Arlington. Services like the outside staff grabbing golf bags from the parking lot as members and guests arrive; there is limited club storage, and getting your clubs cleaned by outside staff post round does not happen at the course. In addition members often have to pick golf balls off of the back range prior to practicing as it is not picked often which can be a bit frustrating. The course also does not offer tee times prior to 7:00am in the summer which is a bit late compared to other courses. Again, small nitpicky critiques here. Overall for the money, Arlington is a great value for someone seeking a country club(ish) experience without having to drop half your yearly salary on it. In perspective, aside from the Bull slightly north, Arlington is sort of the only game in town as most Richmond residents won’t be driving all the way to Lexington to spend 5 to 10x more a year for a different experience. Not to mention your experience at Arlington will be 100x better compared to any other close private facilities excluding all the way to Lexington. But the small services one would expect at a country club are a bit of a trade off that perspective members should be aware of.

Greens in great shape. Fast play during the week. Having GPS on carts makes it worth the membership

I have been going down to Arlington from London, Ont. every year for over 20 years with as many as 24 guys on a spring golf trip to Kentucky. We have enjoyed the golf course and always look forward to playing there. This year again I tried to book us in for a round of golf. I had one of the pros call for 2 days and personally talked to the pro shop for 2 days with only , we will get back to you. No one ever did. I thought this club had more class than that.
