Description

Thoroughbred Golf Club delivers a modern, playable round that rewards confident driving and precise distance control. The routing uses gentle elevation changes and natural corridors to create distinct visuals from tee to green. Fairways offer room to swing, but preferred angles matter into well-protected green sites. Bunkering and water are placed to influence decisions without over-penalizing conservative lines. With steady conditioning and an active schedule of leagues and outings, Thoroughbred serves both frequent players and destination rounds.

We play here pretty often. It’s a solid golf course with well-kept grounds and friendly staff. The food is consistently good, making it a nice place to relax and enjoy a round.

Terrible course conditions and rude staff. Stereotypical club house attitude. Cant ask a simple question without them talking to you like you’re an idiot. Very entitled for a horrible course. I called to see if I could be added to a friend’s tee time and before I even started telling the guy on the phone any details. He said “no. Your friends Curtis already called. I told him no.” I have no clue who Curtis is and he had a tone like I should’ve known better for asking. Who else am I supposed to get this information from other than the pro shop. No matter how respectful you are these guys are gonna treat you like an animal. Typical. No course with dead fairways should have this attitude. Don’t play here. Connemara and Widows Watch Are in the same area for the same price (if not cheaper) and the fairways are actually playable.

I can't believe they don't have winter rates at all. I will start by saying I paid $55 today 3/6/26 and played a great round with my brother from another mother! However I know it's in the early spring season and the grass in the fairways havent started to grow in yet, but the course is in terrible condition. Cart paths are dug up, cart GPS stops you on the cartpaths that do exist and say you are in a restricted area and you have to back up to an unrestricted area which usually was the middle of the fairway. Moles have destroyed alot of the course. They have put several preventive measures to help with this which is admirable. You should not charge $55 dollars a round until the course is in adequate shape, however like I said earlier I did pay my money today and the parking lot was full when we finished at 12:30 so I expect things won't change. Just my two cents.

Used to be a decent course at a very affordable price. Now it's priced above other courses in the area ($55 on a Saturday vs $47 for Connemara for reference) and is by far the worst condition. Fairway grass is pitiful, and something has happened to nearly all the greens recently to make them look scorched. Ranger drives around all day, but no beverage cart on a hot saturday when every tee time is booked. Seems like the staff care a lot more about acting like they own a PGA level course than actually making the course on par with the Lexington city courses 15 minutes down the road. Hadn't been in 3-4 years because of a bad experience, and decided to give them another chance. I will personally never be back.

I've gone twice this year. Once in spring and the fairways were looking very rough - as in, it had looked like they received no water. Fine, I get it, the weather can be rough sometimes, things happen. Several months later, I come back (a few weeks ago) and the fairways look even worse. On top of that, there's zero course management going on here. We were asked to start on the back 9, no problem. Made it through in two hours just fine. Get to the turn and there's a group waiting to tee off and 3 more groups behind them. Okay... things get backed up, saw this and had asked if we could simply go through the back 9 again. Despite 9 and 10 being open, was told, word for word, "Can't, you guys are just going to have to deal with it." Don't waste your time here. It's not worth $55 or even $25 if you ask me. Only positive is that most greens were in decent shape given the lack of rain over the last several weeks.
