Description

Among the metro's oldest courses, Tomahawk Hills offers a classic parkland walk with elevation change, creek crossings, and tight driving windows. The par 70 scorecard and just over 6,000 yard back tees belie how exacting approaches can be into small, tilted greens. Recent maintenance has the Zoysia fairways and bentgrass greens playing firm and true. The par 5s create scoring chances if you manage angles off the tee. It's a local favorite that blends history, scenery, and everyday playability.

This is a great course. Haven't played it, but have watched my daughter play there for school many times. It's a nice course, well kept and has some complexity to it. Not sure if you can walk the course, but I wouldn't. It has a l huge hill before #4 and there's distance between maybe if the holes.

This morning was the 1st time we played this course & what a lovely surprise! The golf Marshall's were warm, welcoming & friendly. The other golfers were kind, considerate & maintained a nice rate of play. Was also nice not to hear obscenities being screamed. We thought the greens & fairways were in great shape. We only played 9 but we will be back. Fraction of the price of other JoCo courses. A hidden gem for sure.

Local "historic" JOCO golf course that is definitely worth your golf list. It is holly tree lined, creeks and #9 and #18 have par 3's that are shots off cliff settings!! Makes you think of Ozark golf holes. Fun to do.

It was an interesting course. On hole #5 you have to look up in a mirror to see if the group in front of you has cleared the green. Hole #7 is a roller coaster of ups and downs. (Pictures included) Both holes #9 and #18 are elevated tee boxes that you need to step forward to get an idea of where the flags are. Like the gal at check in suggested drop down 2 clubs for these tee shots. It has been dry out and there are spots that could use a little maintenance, but overall we had a great experience.

Just played today. Course is in good shape but the tee boxes were pretty rough...C- grade. I chipped today and that area is way off the beaten track. I walked and this course isn't really meant to be walked anymore. The marshals do help walkers up a couple steep and winding hills and are happy to give us tips on those holes. There was probably a sign but I never saw one. And there's noApril 2020:I haven't played the course in 20 years and I found the course hasn't changed much.. Some interesting holes. Very hilly and a challenging but doable (cuz I did) walking/carrying clubs course. Golf shop seems relatively new. I played April 11 2020 and most tees were in awful shape... Mostly sand. Fairways were ok but zoasia was mostly still dormant. The greens were like rock though... Barely could leave ball marks to stop shots but they rolled pretty well once on the putting surface.
