Description
Hutchinson's municipal centerpiece opened in 1932 when Emerson Carey enlisted architect Ralph McCarroll to lay out an 18 hole course. The par 71 routing stretches past 6,600 yards and has received phased upgrades to greens, tees and irrigation in recent years. Fairways framed by native trees put a premium on placement and offer some shelter from the prairie winds. It is approachable for everyday play yet capable of hosting large high school and collegiate events. A full practice facility with a driving range, putting green, chipping area and bunker supports both learning and serious practice.
