My Grandpa Jones loved playing here almost every sunday, it's an excellent little golf course in the middle of the corn fields. The greens are well maintained, it's pretty flat. There's about as much as you could expect given the land, the club is nice and located at the front. Good neighborhood, good course, excellent lifestyle. I'll miss this place!

Spencer Golf & Country Club features a classic tree-lined 18 hole championship layout with five sets of tee boxes to accommodate golfers of all abilities. Full-service dining is offered in the clubhouse with scenic views of the golf course. You can gather inside the freshly-remodeled clubhouse dining area, at the bar, or outside on the patio overlooking the course. Their food is great as well as their service. The Country Club is proud to be the home of the Northwest Amateur Golf Tournament, a four-day event that began in 1921. The tournament field consists of 384 golfers each year and continues as the only 72 hole amateur tournament in the state of Iowa.

The overall ambiance of this place... Petty & Self possessed. I parked there to meet and ride with someone else. I did not see a clearly marked "private parking" sign. Instead of asking me to move, they waited until I got back and called the police. It is sad to see a community based establishment bend over backwards to make life more difficult for members of the community. Save yourself the hassle, and avoid this stuffy self-possessed place.

The Spencer Golf & Country Club hosted the Spencer High School Class of 1973's icebreaker on June 23, 2023. With over 125 people in attendance, Deb Jaycox and her entire staff are commended for their friendly and cordial service. The appetizers, wings, cranberry meatballs, burger sliders, hot spinach and artichoke dip, and relish tray were outstanding and enjoyed by all. The waitresses and bartender did a wonderful job keeping all of our classmates well hydrated. The evening was a HUGE success and all of the kudos belong to the SG&CC. Played after a three inch overnight rain and while very soft, course remained highly playable. Course was in very nice condition with very nice greens. Very friendly staff both in pro shop and restaurant. Pretty course to play, mostly flat and our foresome felt the track played much longer than marked. Will try and play it in the future. Stay in the short grass and you can score well. Not so much playing out of the rough.
