Scheduled a tee time for ironhorse given the time of year and was wanting to golf a round without fighting the leaves. Probably should have just called it a year. The course was in brutal condition. I have never seen a golf course in worse shape. The green were nice looking but very quick. Grass on the tee boxes and the fairways were non existent. Everything but the greens was concrete. It has been a very dry year and they have not watered anything but the greens. And have watered those sparingly. Also had to watch out for the oil slicks on the greens. Lol. Might be an OK course when it's rained a lot more but it's definitely not this year.

This course used to be pretty nice but this last visit was horrible. Almost every tee box was either mostly dirt and/or weeds. Many areas along fairway are also sparse with little grass. I was better off in the rough rather than hitting off of dirt patches. Here’s to hoping conditions improve next year.

Beautiful course, and unbelievably well maintained. If you’re looking for a Links-style course, this is by far the best I’ve been to. Already planning a trip back to play again!

This was my first time visiting Ironhorse. The area had recently received around 3" of rain, so it was cart path only. I opted to walk. Pretty good hike from some greens to tees, but still very enjoyable. Friendly and helpful pro shop personnel. It wasn't crowded at all. In fact, I only saw a few other golfers out. Other than some low spots on the course (several holes were kinda flooded), the course was in good shape. I was very pleased with the quality, consistency and speed of the greens. I'd love to get back to it in some drier conditions.

Just played Iron Horse for the first time today 8/18/25. Considering the scorching heat we have had this summer and multiple days of it, the course was in great shape. They admitted the sand traps were needing worked and they did that. Sand traps now are in good shape. Fairways, greens and tees have grass. Yes they have some botched brown appearance but it's not dirt. Greens putted well I think and overall it was a good experience. Can't wait to play the course again.
