As a central Illinois wedding photographer, I can confidently say that Mistwood is one of my favorite venues for capturing weddings. The potential for stunning portraits on its beautiful grounds is simply unparalleled. Every gallery from weddings I've photographed there turns out absolutely breathtaking. I highly recommend couples consider Mistwood for their special day.

This review is long overdue so where do I begin... I got married here on September 21, 2024 and planned this wedding in 6 months. We attended a wedding here as guests and enjoyed ourselves so much that we looked here for our own wedding. Although wedding planning in that short of a timeframe was stressful, Taylor did not contribute to it. She helped this process so much and it was so helpful that Mistwood included so much in their venue. I loved how beautiful the grounds were so we didn't need to go somewhere else for pictures. The garden for the ceremony was so beautiful that we didn't need to add any decor out there and it was so gorgeous in the photos. We had 122 guests and Taylor helped me design a layout that made you feel like the grand ballroom was always made to fit that amount of people. The food was amazing and people still rave about how they've never been to a wedding where the steak was so good. I'm gluten and dairy free and chef Ben made sure that my food tasted exquisite. I'd recommend this venue over and over again. I even have a family friend getting married there thanks to my referral in November 2025! We visited the restaurant onsite for our 1 year anniversary and it was so special to walk the grounds again and reminisce on a perfect day.

I had my wedding at Mistwood in May 2025 and am so happy we went with there for our wedding venue. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Taylor. She is the best! She is so kind, helpful & quick to respond to all questions. Our rehearsal dinner and wedding overall went smoothly. There were a couple issues that I had spoke to Taylor about after the wedding and were handled appropriately. I would recommend Mistwood Golf Club to anyone getting married.

As a wedding photographer, I may be slightly obsessed with this country club… and honestly, I’m pretty sure the staff is obsessed with me too (I’m there so often they know me by name and treat me like family!). Between the rolling hills, charming stone bridges, and swoon-worthy arched doorways, every corner is basically begging to be in a photo. And the bar? Cozy, moody, and straight-up Scottish—perfect for capturing those “I’m fancy but also relaxed” cocktail moments. The outdoor spaces are endless for portraits, first looks, or just me sneaking a few creative shots while no one’s looking. And if Mother Nature decides to rain on our parade, the covered areas are equally stunning—no stress, just more photo ops. Basically, if you’re looking for a venue that’s ridiculously photogenic, full of charm, and will make you feel like part of the family (bonus: me included), this country club is a total win. I had my wedding in May 2025 at Mistwood and it was the best experience! Taylor, the on-site venue coordinator for Mistwood, is the best of the best. She was so responsive via email and text anytime my husband and I had a question for her. She was timely and followed through on everything she committed to. She was so involved in our entire wedding process, and I believe she is one of the biggest reasons our day went so smoothly and was stress free! She was so easy to work with. The venue itself is stunning. The grounds are well kept, and there are ample places to get photos outside. We had our ceremony in the courtyard, which overlooks the golf course. We barely had any decor outside for the ceremony. The views are enough! Inside, the venue is so charming. Lots of European and Scottish vibes, which we LOVED. Lots of character! We loved the terrace room for our cocktail hour, as well as the Great Hall for our reception. Both rooms had enough space for our guests and had access to the outside decks, which again overlooked the course. The food was AMAZING. From the apps, to the entrees... everything was cooked perfectly. The whole day was perfect, I cannot recommend Mistwood and working with Taylor enough!!
