Description

Fox Bend Golf Course is a highly regarded municipal track with championship-style design elements. Generous landing areas contrast with challenging green complexes that reward sharp wedge play. Water hazards and mature trees shape several memorable holes. The layout is fair but demanding for players seeking a test. It's one of Chicagoland's strongest public layouts.

I have a foursome of guys that golf together, we finally convinced the wives to come with us, so we booked two adjacent tee times, knowing that we would be separate and fully understand that. But from the second we got there I should have known to turn around and go somewhere else. It was a 9am tee time on a Friday, so not particularly busy but the gentleman in the pro shop was just rude and rushed through everything. I would assume that a golf course open on a day where is was ~50 degrees would have coffee, he made my wife feel like an idiot for making that assumption. The course itself was in so so condition, I would probably have given it a pass as “good for late season” if we didn’t have a bad experience to start the day. At the turn we went to get a hotdog and a drink, as we walked up to the window outside the woman was walking away, so we went to the pro shop to see if there was somewhere else we could get a drink. He snapped back again, “no she said she would be back”. So we headed back outside to wait. The woman in the snack window was great and very friendly. When we got the hotdogs we stood on the deck to eat it in the sun and the pro shop guy came out and barked “nope, you need to keep going”. Now, our tee time was 9am, it was currently 10:45, so we were trending miles ahead of pace of play. So headed to the 10th tee as our group behind just got to the 9th green, they asked if we wanted a drink and we told them that we had just been hurried along. We started the 10th, and no one started their back nine until we were on the 12th. For a club that I had heard good things about, I am so upset I choose this as the place to introduce a few people to playing a round of golf. The experience was rushed, pressured and tainted by the pro shop member with an attitude problem. If you’re in the area, White Tail Ridge/Mistwood are far better courses and experiences, they are more expensive, but absolutely worth it. If you’re looking for something similar in price with a much better course, go to spring brook in Naperville.

Excited to play a nice course with a good reputation. The last two holes we waited over 45 minutes for a 9 some. After talking the “player assistance” worker he said “its only me and this girl there isn't much we can do.” Not the best answer.

This is a lovely Golf Course in a suburb of chicago, illinois. Oswego is a nice town with lots of shopping and restaurants. The course itself was very well kept, and had some beautiful views including small ponds. The restaurant was delightful! There was a deck with live, outdoor music on a Saturday night, and the food was delicious. Our server was out of this world. She was so kind and had the most wonderful smile. It was over 90°, and never once did she seem frustrated or overwhelmed. The Pro Shop was very well equipped and had a nice selection of clothing as well. The snack shop offered many different options. Several times we were approached by a beverage cart on the course. Our friends live in Oswego and play here all the time. It was our first time, and we were impressed. ⛳💖😀

Even though it is middle of december, the course is super well maintained. Not crowded so that it is so good to play without rush. Very engaging course design will make your winter golf day.

$35 to walk 9 holes on a weekday is a little steep especially considering the conditions. Springbrook charges $26 and is in better shape.
