This was one of my favorite golf experiences. The course was as beautiful as it gets, I don’t think I’ve ever played more amazing finishing holes. The weather really cooperated and there was sunshine and no wind to speak of. We were the first tee time out and finished the round in 3 HOURS which is unheard of typically on a resort course. I can’t wait to come back and visit once the new clubhouse is finished. Ranked as one of the nicest courses in Hawaii it’s easy to see why. What a great experience. Shoutout to Tom and the whole staff who made it a day to remember. *They had just sanded the greens after a big storm getting ready for a college tournament so don’t mind that in the photos. Greens played a little slow but no impact to the round overall

This is our third round in Kauai, after Makai and Puakea ,I am so happy that we are here, we started from back nine and incredibly magnificent scene coming in and we had great shots there. Also the golf shop and Ricky is very helpful , the food and beverage supply on course is just in time 😉 we are starting planning next Kauai golf trip

Oh my goshWhat a beautiful experience! I took the special that they have giving you a lesson, a Golf club cleaning towel, a sleeve of balls and rented golf clubs and nine hole scramble plus extra nine holes. The course is in beautiful shape and the views are breathtaking... A little longer than I'm used to and lots of sand traps, but very enjoyable. Isaac lopez was my instructor and he was absolutely amazing..........you definitely want to take a lesson from him!

*this review is for July 2025, while the resort and golf course are undergoing major renovations and construction The course is kind of a mess right now. The clubhouse is being renovated, so the temporary clubhouse is in the snack shop. The snack shop has the only restroom on the course and there is a single stall for each m/w. The parking area is a trek to the temporary clubhouse, so it’s not convenient. There are houses being built along the course, a Hilton hotel being built at the resort and on the course (they are the ones renovating the golf clubhouse) = super loud and distracting construction noise throughout. All of this would be understandable if the prices were adjusted accordingly, but it’s $300 for non-resident and $195 for Kama’aina, which is a lot. GENERALLY The course itself is fantastic. Very challenging, five holes are right on the water with beautiful views. The staff are very friendly, professional, and helpful. No water stations, they give you two bottles of water at check in. Hole 15 is the backdrop of the Happy Madison Productions intro, which is fun. BUT, the golf course is located right next to the airport, so you do get a lot of noise from airplanes taking off/landing. And there were more brown grass areas than you’d expect.

Ocean Course at Hokuala is a fun and enjoyable course, though unfortunately, it isn't worth $300 because course conditions weren't pristine. However, this doesn't completely discount the experience because holes 14, 15 and 16 are possibly three the most scenic views in golf. Also, it was a bit of a maze locating the parking lot.
