Description

City Club Marietta, originally opened in 1912 and later renovated by Mike Young, is a historic 18-hole course in the heart of Marietta. Compact at 5,700 yards and par 71, it emphasizes accuracy with its narrow fairways and small greens. Despite its modest length, the tree-lined corridors and elevation changes create challenge for even experienced golfers. Its setting within the city makes it a convenient and affordable round. Practice facilities are limited to a putting green, but its charm and century-old history make it a beloved local treasure.

A great challenging course that is fun to play. Great scenic views throughout the course. The greens are fast and firm. Inside the club house is a friendly staff and the Grill serves up daily specials cooked to order... The practice facilities are adequate.

Course in great shape, pro shop and bar/grille was great! Starter is kinda brash/cold and didn’t seem excited to be there. Bev cart passed us around 5-6 times and didn’t stop, even with us waving at her to ask for a bev, especially since there aren’t any water coolers on the course, which sucks. Come for the conditions, byob in case the cart girl just does hot laps all day. Finished 40 minutes behind pace due to no marshalls enforcing pace

I enjoy this course a lot and play here frequently enough to have the course pretty memorized. They have spent a lot of time and money making the course amazing to play with challenges and great views. BUT.... HIRE SOME MARSHALS PLEEEEAAASSEEE. It is such a constant thing now to see 5 man groups taking multiple t box shots , or seeing young kids acting like it's a driving range that ends up stacking 2 groups on top of each other before you even make the turn. They list pace of play but no one enforces it. Your a great course and you charge a premium. I think there should be a level of expectations and courtesy on the course to match.

Always enjoy playing here. The views from the elevated tee boxes are amazing and I love the variety of holes + how different the front and back 9s feel. Greens are SLICK. Get your practice time on the putting green or you'll definitely be 3 putting. The short par 4s force you to make a lot of risk-reward decisions - especially on the back. A good day off the tee will lead to some low scores. Most of the fairways are in very good condition, but there are a few places that are pretty washed out. The sloping hills combined with that Georgia clay can't be easy to manage. On a few holes this forces you to layup because the ball will roll 100 yards on that clay and into some tough spots. You won't really know it until you've played it once, so keep notes! You'll knock off at least 5 strokes the 2nd time through. If I'm being picky, there are a few holes that could use some tree trimming. Amenities are solid. Great clubhouse and restaurant. Driving range is decent (although mats only), and the putting green is nice. Would love some water coolers around the course during this summer heat though. Pace of play is always good in my experience and the course is walkable. Well worth the fee to play.

We come here a few times a week to play 9 in the evening. You will catch some really great sunsets if you play in the evening. The course is well maintained and there are some really interesting holes here. My only complaint is the greens. They are tough, but a fun challenge if you aren’t used to greens that roll. They also get tricky around the green because it gets muddy. The staff is always friendly and helpful. We have never had an issue with booking tee times. They have precautions for COVID-19 (required masks inside, thoroughly sanitize carts, pool noodles in hole, etc.). The pace of play is sometimes slow because there are a lot of beginners that come to this course. There are multiple putting/chipping areas by the driving range that are great to practice on while waiting for your tee time.
