I wish I could give more stars—Virginia at the front desk absolutely deserves them—but one major hiccup held me back. There was an event in the space between the hotel and the winery, and my corner room (likely the closest to the venue) shook from the music. I was told it would end at 9:00 p.m., but it didn’t wrap up until somewhere between 10:30 and 11:00. At 10:00, the manager on duty said my only option was to move rooms. After being up since 3:30 a.m., packing everything to relocate that late just wasn’t reasonable. My mother, in a beautiful suite at the front of the hotel, had the same experience. It left the impression that selling out the event space takes precedence over guests paying a premium to sleep. Outside of that, the grounds are lovely and the food was exceptional. The rooms and especially the bathrooms could use a refresh, but the setting is undeniably pretty. I simply wish the hotel had reconsidered hosting such a loud event on a Thursday night—or at least enforced the stated end time. What keeps this from a one-star is the staff, most notably Virginia. She was warm, professional, and genuinely delightful from start to finish. If I return, it will be because of how amazing Virginia was.

We did the wine tour and tasting. It was so much fun and we learned a lot about wine. We learned how to use all our senses in appreciation of each wine. Wonderful time spent with my best friend.

Food-10, Massages-10, the way we got treated tonight because we weren’t one of the five people at the pool for the Vineyard Fest-0. If there is an event like this and you aren’t paying to do it, don’t come. You get to use a portion of the amenities. We just wanted to stand by the fire pit and got asked to leave because we didn’t do the Vineyard Fest, which was at the pool. Funny, there was no one there and you asked a guest to leave the fire pit. We used to come a lot but I think we’re done.

Beautiful hotel with great rooms and lots to do. The service at Elan is incredible. I’m particularly grateful to an employee named Yeory who went above and beyond to find breakfast for me when I showed up after the buffet had closed.

We had an amazing time at this resort. Beautiful surroundings, amazing ambience, nice driving range. The rooms were sophisticated and the furniture was well curated to match the energy of the resort.
