Description
The famed Par-3 course at Augusta National is the stage for the Masters' Wednesday Par-3 Contest and a design jewel in its own right. Set around Ike's and DeSoto Springs Ponds, it features postcard water carries and immaculate, compact greens. Originally built in 1958 by George Cobb with input from club co-founder Clifford Roberts, it has seen subtle evolutions, including two new holes by Tom Fazio in 1987 and refinements unveiled in 2023. At roughly 1,055 yards, the emphasis is on precision and controlling spin rather than power. It remains one of the most recognizable short courses in the world.
