Description

Echelon Golf Club, a Rees Jones design, opened in 2006 and is considered one of Georgia's most challenging courses. The par 72 layout tips out at over 7,500 yards and features dramatic elevation changes, wide fairways, and expansive undulating greens. The terrain offers scenic views of north Georgia and tests every aspect of a golfer's game. The course is demanding, requiring both length and precision, and is regarded as a tour caliber venue. Practice facilities are extensive, with a driving range, putting greens, and chipping areas.

One of the best golf courses in the area just north of Atlanta. If you get the chance to play out here and haven’t yet then you are missing out! This course will absolutely test every single part of your game at some point in the round. But it still rewards good shots fairly with birdie opportunities on multiple holes. If you aren’t careful you can lose a ton of golf balls out here because this golf course is brutally tough from any tee box you play from, if you are playing blues or tips there is a-lot of challenging tee shots and tough par 3s. Course is always in great shape and the tee boxes are nice and leveled and have lots of good turf to hit from. Greens are solid here too, bent greens so they will be a touch slower in the summer heat but spring and fall time they run fast and pure. But they always roll true to line and seem consistent speed hole to hole. I absolutely love this course and will keep coming back, staff is always friendly and helpful too, big shoutout to all of them! You are missing out if you haven’t played here yet!

This course was so well groomed and in great shape. The fairways were immaculate and the greens were quick but not punishing quick. We were paired with 2 others who belonged to the course patrons. Though a pairing is often awkward, ours wasn't. Had a great round, on a great day, on a great course. Would absolutely love to play it again, but $5.00 a hole is somewhat steep for me. Even so, I encourage you all to head over there. I do want to say that their practice facilities are 1st class. Spend an hour or two before your round and you'll see what I mean. Even with it being January, the course was still in great shape. Even cut tee boxes, healthy fairways, and fantastic greens. Was especially impressed with the greens. Amazing condition, regardless of the time of year. Love that a round includes range balls too. If you're going to spend $80+ on a round, this is what you expect. I'll be back.

Quite easily one of the best courses I’ve ever played. The greens were pure, fairways weren’t in pristine shape because of the recent weather and yet were still excellent, and the layout is incredible. Almost every hole had me saying “wowww” because of the elevation or the environment or green complex. Absolutely worth making the trip out there.

If you are serious about your game, this is the course for you. Echelon GC is semi private and occasionally you can catch a GolfNow deal, $75-$120. So we played today, May 9 and the course was already in summer form. The fairways, rough, and greens were absolutely amazing. I have been playing since Tiger won his first masters and pretty confident about my handicap and game. With that, this is was the hardest course I have played in GA. The only public course that is comparable is Heritage in Tucker, Ga. The Course Marshall (super friendly) even warned us and we played from the senior White Tees! No lost balls, no errant tee shots, just greens rolling on the pro level and strategic placed bunkers!!! Unfortunately he told us we played about 6400 yards because the whites were pushed near blues. We were also told the course was designed by Reese Jones, who favors draw and fade pro players. You can catch the Korn Ferry boys playing from the tips!!!! Every fairway bunker was placed at the 225-250 mark for the everyday amateur golfer. However, I still recommend this course because it’s an experience…. The club house was extremely welcoming from the food, beer, to the spirits. We had the burgers and they were “slamming!” I had the burger 🍔 topped with a few pieces of brisket!! Com’on mane- Insanely good! To finish we had 2 generous pours of Larceny wheat and EC Rye for $9 each… Let me stress, don’t play this course until you’re hitting the ball straight (or you can work the ball), your wedge is game tight, and you can truly read greens. Let me also stress, this is course is surrounded by old money; you have $$$$ houses on every hole. Just think Chateau Elan, St Marlo, or TPC Sugarloaf on steroids. So just play golf and not marvel at the three story houses 4 sides brick with pools. This course was worth the $114….
