Hadn’t been to the course in years, and with the reviews being pretty good I figured we’d give it a go again. We were told there was a tourney on the course and to be patient. I don’t mind waiting a little, but waiting on every shot is excessive - it took 2-1/2 hours to get through the front 9. At the turn our group stopped to grab snacks since we were going to be waiting anyways, and some rude residents decided to jump in front of us on the senior tees. They said they were told to go ahead since no one was on the tee box but I didn’t see the starter outside the clubhouse so I’m pretty sure they were on the range and just skipped in front of us. If there was a starter who told them to go that would have been just as bad because of the current pace. Needless to say we were waiting even longer now and ended up giving up and leaving. Paid $60 to play 13 holes. The course is in ok shape…fairways, greens, tee boxes, everything not good, just ok. And plenty of hardpan around the greens. We weren’t going to bother getting a rain check for the back 9 because we aren’t returning. It used to be a nice course years ago, but like the majority of public/semi private courses, the conditions just don’t warrant the price or the patronage.

Nice little course. Despite the very dry conditions, the fairways and greens were good. On in 2 for every par 5, but the greens are unforgiving. Only 1 birdie and par for the rest. Overall, it's a course I'd play again. I'm sure it's really nice when the rain in normal. I also ate a the clubhouse. Awesome French dip sandwich. The wings looked pretty great, but didn't eat them.

Conditions were dry which was to be expected because of the lack of rain, but you really must play this course at least once to check out the five crater holes from 12 to 16. Hilly Terrain with a few blind shots. They should install Bells to let golfers behind know when it is safe to hit. Awesome restaurant specials. Bartender was very nice and the food was excellent. Very good happy hour specials as well.

Ok course. Pace was decent. You do want to be on fairway and green all the time because rough isnt really rough, it's more like sandy with a few spots of grass. A lot of hidden holes that can be a bit tricky but also dangerous because you really don't have any idea where the group in front of you are. So please do check.

Played Zellwood today. As you can see from some of the photos I took, the course is pretty banged up. They had recently aerified the greens so I’ll give them a pass on this because the lower rate reflected these conditions, and aerification is part of general maintenance. But it’s gonna take some time for them to recover. I recommend waiting at least a month or two before playing here. The fairways were playable, but the immediate rough off the fairways and beyond are VERY rough - as in large patches of high weeds, and large areas of dirt. Most tee boxes are pretty messed up too. A number of bunkers and other areas on the course have major erosion problems leading to unplayable areas. This used to be one of my favorite courses and was always kept in great shape, but sadly it’s like many other courses in the Orlando area that have deteriorated due to lack of maintenance. Unlike other courses that are still charging $60-70 for the same conditions, at least Zellwood has a rate that reflects the existing conditions.
