Description

Killearn Country Club (now reimagined as Killearn Club) is a historic private club in Tallahassee, originally established in the 1960s as a landmark golf and social destination in the rolling Red Hills countryside northeast of downtown. It features 27 holes across redesigned configurations: an 18-hole Championship Course (originally by William Amick, with modern updates by Chris Wilczynski) and a new 9-hole Clover Course, blending time-honored traditions with contemporary enhancements like lush turfgrass, redesigned landscapes, and strategic elements such as bunkers, water features, and undulating greens. The Championship Course plays around 6,700 yards as a par 72, offering variety and challenge amid picturesque scenery, while the shorter Clover provides additional flexibility for members. The club has undergone significant renovations, including a revamped clubhouse, pool, restaurant, and premier practice facilities with cutting-edge technology. Members enjoy a renewed sense of pride, community heritage, and an enriching experience with award-winning golf in a peaceful, neighborhood-preserved setting.

Would be a great course but they discriminate. The amount I pay to play here and can't get an environment that is conducive to playing a round. Staff overall are great, the clubhouse is warm and inviting. The ranger on the other hand plays favorites, got onto our group for not playing fast enough only for us to watch him stop the group ahead to have a good conversation and laugh. Clearly this course values some more than others, and that's just disappointing. I was hoping the new redesign/management would be great, and while they've done an exceptional job in some areas, there's still a lot of work to be performed. Stop discriminating against your members and treat everyone the same. For now, save your money and go play Southwood where they'll treat you like gold no matter who you are.

Killearn is loaded with things to do to bring people of all ages and fitness levels together. It is definitely due for some much needed renovations but when these occur, it will be THE PLACE to go for golf, tennis, camps, dining, events, swimming, and FUN in Tallahassee!⛳️🎾🍺💦☀️

I've been a member of KCC for 10 years and was dismayed at the way that the prior owner allowed the facility to deteriorate. His failure to maintain the roof of the facility directly led to the need to destroy the Inn. This was a horrible shame. I am thrilled with the new ownership and management. They have recently upgraded four of the tennis courts to a special clay with new fencing and nets. Plans have been made for a new clubhouse. My wife and I had dinner for their special Valentine's Dinner that was offered on two separate nights. We sat for the Friday night dinner and were not disappointed. The food was delicious, the presentation was outstanding and the price was very reasonable. We had oysters, delicious bread rolls, a giant wedge salad loaded with goodies, and Chateaubriand and veggies for the main course. The steak was done to perfection. Dessert was also included in the meal - and we had so much that we brought it home to the kids. I see people playing golf on the course every day and the tennis courts are used regularly. The membership has been growing steadily under the new ownership and I believe there is a bright future for Killearn Country Club. If not for the current condition of some of the buildings, I would have given the club five stars. I'm sure that will be rectified in due time.

The pool is clean and great but the rest is old and worn out. There was an unsupervised female teen at the pool in a thong swimsuit smoking e cigarettes which is not very family like. The buildings are old and falling apart. I guess the remaining 18 hole golf course is in good shape. They closed 9 holes. The owner doesn't seem to care about this property or its members.

I would put less than a star if I could. I am not a member but received a gift certificate for 4 free rounds of golf (green fee only). I brought a friend and used two of the 4 within a month. The gift certificate had no expiration date but when I played the guy took my certificate (understandably) and wrote my final two free rounds on rain check cards which I didn't mind. Well some time passed before I had a chance to go again and when reviewing the rain check cards, it says expires in 6 months. It was well after 6 months but I thought for sure they would honor it since the gift certificate didn't have an expiration. Well, one phone call later, they said sorry we cant honor that. I simply wanted to play after work on a Tuesday afternoon, 5pm to closing. So not even close to a full 18 holes. He acted very snobby and like he was the owner and actually "losing money". Even after I explained the situation at hand Keep in mind I still would have to pay a cart fee which is completely understandable, therefore they would still be making money. Wouldn't budge. So with that, I will never consider being a member, do not want any part of that place, and will spread the word to anyone I know. You would think, as a business and private course, they would want to entice me to become a member and show me they are willing to work with you. Guess not.
