The marshal was the rudest and most unprofessional marshal I’ve ever encountered in 15+ years of recent memory. As a former honor caddy growing up in SE Michigan in the mid 80’s and an Evan Scholar recipient - Western Golf Association, University of Michigan, I know the rules of golf and respect the pace of play. He came up to me on hole 10 when I was a lone rider looking for a ball that was close to the course boundary. I looked for less than 2 minutes and found my ball. He said something to me then. I acknowledged him politely. The next hole he and came up to me two more times - once when I was doing a drop after water ball. Just pushing us and being super aggressive and rude. My 2 friends said the same thing. The group behind us never ever waited on us once. After we left the 10th green- they were never in sight. The 3rd time he came up to me I said we’re doing our best. He said you have to go faster..The thing is - no one waited on us a single second. We paid $135/person for out of state greens fees on a rainy day and I had a horrible time in the back 9 because of his aggressive and rude behavior. All 3 of us individually had 20+ years of service in the US Navy and we were not valued or treated with respect. If you’re wondering who he was - my first encounter with him in the back 9 was around 10:30 am on Thursday, 1/15/26. Really the worst experience I can remember because of this guy!!!

Plantation Preserve Golf Course is an amazing wedding venue! We were overjoyed to have our wedding turn out as amazing as it did and working with the event manager, Melissa and the entire staff that worked our wedding Chef Chris, Dylan our bartender, and Tiana was an absolute pleasure! Everyone we met each time was amazing and we are forever grateful to them for delivering the wedding reception of our dreams! This venue has gorgeous views of the golf course and a beautiful reception room with a very well arranged bar, delicious food, lots of parking, and a well stocked bar. We loved everything! Everyone was friendly and kind. Thank you to PPGC for a wonderful wedding day!

My farther and I were visiting from overseas and were looking to play a round of golf together. We arrived in the afternoon and were not made to feel welcome at all, which was a real shame. We needed one set of clubs to rent which felt like asking for the world. In fact I would go as far to say the two men at the desk were utterly unhelpful. I wish we had walked out at this point, hindsight is a wonderful thing. The cart chaps were much nicer to be fair and helpful. We were told that we couldn’t use the cart on the fairways of holes 1 & 9 which is absolutely fine by us. What wasn’t fine was the cart not working on the majority of the fairways. I think we may have been able to use it on 3 max 4 holes of the 18, which is just unacceptable when you are paying over $300 for a round of golf. We tried not to let it bother us but our experience was certainly tarnished. Greens were average which again was a shame as the course layout is challenging and could be great in my opinion. Wouldn’t recommend this place take you well earned $$ elsewhere.

This used to be my go-to course. Plantation preserve used to honor service members and veterans - found out today - “they have done away with discounts for members of the US armed forces because of inflation(?)” not only that but they raised the rates $40 more than previous. Changed the driving range to mats only and charge $10 for probably 18 balls - used to get grass on the weekends. Icing on the cake - I understand every course has its policies for rain checks- played 2.5 holes because of weather - you get a rain check for half the price of the round. Not even your money back. This used to be the go-to. Even the staff members in the pro shop showed their disgust with the price increase. It’s a city owned course that used to be priced fairly. Now you’re paying a premium course price. If you wanna spend $140 - I recommend looking at other options. Oh and lastly - now I have a voucher for half the price of a tee time to a course I don’t even want to entertain giving my business to.

Plantation Preserve is easily one of the nicest public courses I’ve played in the area. The entire place is really well maintained—everything from the tee boxes to the greens was in great shape, and it’s clear the grounds crew puts in the work. The layout itself is both scenic and challenging, which is the sweet spot for me. It doesn’t feel unfair, but it definitely makes you think—club selection and course management go a long way here. A few holes really forced me to focus on placement off the tee, and there’s a good variety throughout the round to keep it interesting. Practice-wise, they’ve got a nice setup for public access—solid putting green and a short game area to get a feel before your round. Just a heads up though: there are some additional practice facilities that are reserved for members only, so not everything is open to everyone. Not a huge deal, but something to keep in mind. All in all, I really liked this course. It’s well-designed, beautifully kept, and offers just the right level of challenge without being punishing. Definitely one I’d recommend if you're looking for a high-quality public course in the area.
