Absolute worst experience here. We came out to play 18 holes as a foursome at The Nest today, tee time was 11:10 am. We aren’t the best players but we like to have a good time and are respectful of others playing and will move along if we are taking too long. We were the only other people playing when we first got here. After passing the 3rd hole, a guy working here stopped us and said we need to move along because there was a twosome behind us .. the course was empty and the only people playing were us, a twosome a ways behind us and a foursome that started on the back 9. We said no problem and that we wouldn’t hold them up. He drove up to us again at the 8th hole and said we need to move, and asked if we planned on playing all 18 holes and asked if we planned to use the restroom or get water at the 9th hole because we needed to move. He then drove up to us again, harassing us and got out of the golf cart to watch us play at the 9th hole. You’d think we had a line of people behind us at this point but the twosome people didn’t care about us and he rushed us so much that we ended up waiting on the foursome that started on the back 9. He rushed the other foursome ahead of us and told them that we were in a rush and that they needed to move. Completely ruined the experience for us and it’s still empty here.

It was an amazing experience and the staff was so kind. The course was amazing and we got lucky with the beautiful weather. The prices were pretty expensive but the experience made up for it. Would definitely recommend this place for starters.

So as a regular at The Nest… I have to say I’m so disappointed in the staff this morning. If you don’t recognize my real name, it’s Manny… I’m known at both the nest and sandhill by the ladies and gentleman that work at the counter. For the past year I’ve been playing this course as a beginner to learn how to play and as I’ve had fun… the rules a staff at a PAR 3 is horrid. Today I arrived with my normal 3 that I’m with almost every weekend there. My buddies are highly experienced as I am not, so they come with me to teach me as they can obviously play the bigger courses. Today we arrived with TWO FULL SETS of clubs knowing you only need 3-4 clubs if you’re experienced and we were turned away to play…. After playing here as much as we do I was surprised we got turned away, then we get offered to rent clubs that are basically the same price as the tee time…. It’s really a mess here especially with the older retired rude cart guys… Craig and the lady behind the bar I will say are exceptionally awesome as well as the chef… even the older gentleman who’s the starter that arrives at 10 is great…but your cart guys and your rules need reevaluating…. It’s a PAR 3…. Not sandhill… really guys get a grip or you’ll lose more beginners. It’s been a pleasure.

If you want to spend $260 to be harassed by a grumpy old man who takes his ranger job too seriously then this is the place for you. We had an 11:10 am tee time and there was a twosome behind us, we spoke to them and let them know if we’re going too slow to pass, they told us no worries and no rush. We had a threesome in front of us that was moving along. Other than us and the two other groups, the golf course was completely empty (not exaggerating). For some reason, the angry old man they have working there felt the need to come up to us every 10 minutes to tell us we need to play faster. Finally, after the 5th time of him coming up to us, I asked what the rush is for when no one is on the golf course. He proceeded to tell me that it’s his job to make sure everyone is playing quickly and that IF it were busier our pace wouldn’t work. I explained that we came to a par 3 golf course, not in season, at a slow time so that we could take our time, especially with two of us being newer golfers. At this point I had no idea what to even say, it was the most bizarre experience. I’m looking around at an empty golf course and trying to wrap my head around why this guy is even following us and the other groups around. He would not leave us alone and would not give any real explanation so finally went and spoke to the man at the desk inside (who was very nice) and said he would speak to him. We played the last 6 holes in peace and went on our way.

Heavenly range with Trackman & lighted covered range too with bar & good food. The Nest is an amazing Par 3. IMO better than PB. One of us also had his first Hole-in-one. 228yd 7th. Make the drive & visit to this course.
