I have played this Course over the years and it's not as nice as the Raven but I wanted to get out early. The Course was in fair sharp for the winter conditions. The greens were not cut close which caused them to be slow. The price was $80.00 with my stay at Sandestin resorts. The layout is challenging but don't come thinking you will have a private Golf experience.

(Disclaimer: November is overseeding month, so we expected the conditions to be less than ideal and they were - greens were slow and fuzzy and often wet from watering. Hence the 4stars, even though this would easily be a 5star experience for us at other times of the year). The course is fun, winds through the resort on both sides of the highway (via a tunnel), and is in really good condition. We enjoyed our rounds here, especially the ones later in the second week after overseeding after they mowed the greens. Raven and Baytowne courses share the same clubhouse and start from the same place. We will play here again for sure.

I’ve played Baytowne over the years and have enjoyed golf at this course. This past Thursday however, I was very disappointed. After checking in for my tee time, I hit a a few balls and headed to meet the starter to give home my receipt. He said you’re good to go except you’ll need to jump in another cart with the other player. I was confused, I never had to do that before there if I wanted my own cart. The starter was a crotchety old man probably in his 80s. I told him I needed my own cart today because I was working and other private matters I needed to tend to during my round. He said I’d either need to get in the other cart or I’d have to pay a cart fee. I told him I’ll pay the cart fee. The fee ended up being $40. I was not happy about that. We proceed to play the course and every green was lumpy, over grown and the pin cups hadn’t been moved in weeks. When I returned after my round I complained. The Manager, Kirk, explained to me that the are being need to grow higher and they can’t cut them low. That’s why you paid a discounted rate. I wasn’t told before I played that there was maintenance being done in the greens. But that wasn’t an excuse for not moving the cups. Well Kirk made things right. He refunded my cart fee and booked me a tee time on their much better course The Raven. I appreciate Kirk making things right. You guys still need to move those cups. I hope next year things will be in better shape.

Past reviews are not good, but we played Baytowne yesterday, 11-12-2025 and the course was in great shape. Tee boxes, fairways were lush. Greens had just been over seeded and were a little slow but in a few weeks they will be fine. Priced right. Definitely worth it.

Can be a fun course. It would be nice if they kept the bunkers groomed. Some are water logged and hard as concrete. Typical FL course otherwise with the exception of the very slow greens. They look great but you'll have to get used to really powering the ball on the greens or you'll be short all day long.
