Cabot Citrus Farms was fun—but it’s not quite living up to the hype or the price point yet. Starting with the positives: the drive-up and entrance are excellent, the overall vibe is strong, and the layout is genuinely fun (even if a bit hokey at times). Pace of play was good, the greens are massive and entertaining to putt across, and the food and beverage options are solid—but overpriced relative to the rest of the experience. Overall, the staff is friendly, and we absolutely had a good time. That said, at $360 per round, expectations are high—and several things missed the mark compared to other golf experiences at a similar price. • The employees are helpful, but not at the level you’d expect for a premium, hospitality-driven golf destination. Some additional training would go a long way if the goal is true high-end service. • The driving range tech is very cool and almost offsets having to hit off mats—but not completely. Also, no restroom anywhere near the range is hard to fathom. • Mandatory walking feels unnecessary here. We did it, and it’s doable, but this isn’t a course where walking needs to be required—especially at this price. • The lack of complimentary refreshment stations is surprising. The paid options are good, but again, at this price point, it’s hard to justify when compared to similar resorts. • A surprising number of holes, tee boxes, and surrounding areas feel unfinished. Weeds in bunkers, rough, and around tees were noticeable and not what I expected. • Tee boxes that are literally just markers placed in the fairway are completely unacceptable for a course charging this much. • We had multiple instances where employees appeared to be racing us to tees or greens to scoot by while cutting or in transit, which felt awkward and unreasonable compared to other high-end courses. • The greens are wildly unrealistic. They’re fun to mess around on, but they bear little resemblance to anything you’d see on a traditional or “real” golf course. Bottom line: we had fun, no doubt—but we don’t believe the experience fully justifies the hype or the price. For similar money, we’d choose other destinations first. That said, if you decide to go, you’ll enjoy yourself—I just wonder if you’ll feel it was worth the price of admission. A solid 4 stars, with potential to earn more as things get refined.

This place is great but a few things kept it from being a five star course in my eyes. 1. The walking. I know it’s seasonal and I don’t mind walking a course but this sandy environment is very different and more difficult to manage, when you’re trying to enjoy yourself on the course (and for what you’re paying). The signage is also really bad. It’s really bad if you would’ve been in a cart. Then imagine if you’re walking. Luckily we had a caddy or we would’ve been lost. 2. The turf driving range drives me nuts. It helps no one’s game and should be banned, especially at a course of this caliber. We played the Karoo course and the course was an awesome experience! I definitely didn’t think I was in Florida playing a round of golf, so it’s super unique! Which is really cool. There’s basically zero water as well. This course is super difficult though. I hit 12/18 GIR’s and had 45 putts. The greens are insanity. But I had heard that before I got there so I was expecting it already. That’s not a negative on them, it just is what it is. I was on the green three or four times with putts over or just under 80’ away. The frickin caddy pulled out the range finder on one of them!! I was WTH?! Put that away 😂 Anyways, I live in Tampa and had to check out one of the hottest courses being talked about this year. It’s definitely a fun experience but use a cart and expect a few four putts!

We recently played Cabot Citrus Farms during a golf trip from Canada where we played four different courses in Florida. The other three courses were in great condition. Unfortunately Cabot Citrus Farms was by far the worst and also the most expensive. For the price they are charging, the course conditions were extremely disappointing. The overall conditioning felt rough and several of the guys in our what's app group were jokingly asking “what goat track are you playing?” after seeing photos. The greens were the biggest issue. They were rock hard and nearly impossible to hold. You could hit a perfect tee shot and approach, land it on the front of the green, and watch the ball bounce and roll 30–40 yards off the back. It made the course feel unfair rather than challenging. To make things even more frustrating, the course was walking only “to protect the course.” That explanation didn’t make much sense considering the poor conditions. We travelled all the way from Canada and this was easily the most disappointing round of the trip. At the price they are charging, the experience simply didn’t justify the cost. I honestly wouldn’t pay anything more then $50 USD for the conditions we experienced.

I recently played at Cabot Citrus Farms and had mixed feelings. The course layout was really fun. It’s creative and challenging, and you can tell it has a lot of potential. But the conditions were disappointing. The course was super dry, rock hard, and brown. For $375 a round, I expect much better. It just doesn’t meet the standard for that price. There were also no carts and no beverage cart service, which was surprising considering how much it costs to play. The place has potential, but I wouldn’t go back for at least a year or so.

Amazing upgrade to the old World Woods property. The bones were always there and it feels borderline religious to see it come to life. Food is pretty damn good and also reasonable. Chicken sandwich on course in the huts is fire. Throw some of them pickled jalepenos on em. Par 3 and Squeeze are also super fun
